cannot see it happening. first off, the NFL is smart enough to know that it needs the culture and character that small markets , (with a fan base) have. they do not want to be major league baseball , where all you have are the same big markets competing every year. secondly, i think the ralph is a great venue for football. television likes the snow, personally , i feel the bills and the area should market the ralph like what they do with lambeau. it was the site of the greatest comeback and other games. the area has to stop with the inferiority complex and start thinking, be proactive.

The Bills have not had a problem selling tickets yet, but the stadium lease is up soon and the Bills will likely be looking at taxpayers to help upgrade the stadium. Moving games to Canada was done for a reason. It is all about the math - so three things appear to be on the horizon with the stadium lease being number one, the Toronto agreement expires and then there has been no provision that I know of to keep the Bills in WNY in the event something happens to our 91 yr old owner.

Regarding the Jags, there was some talk about them moving to Orlando to become the Disney Jags.

LOS ANGELES (AP)—The company behind a plan to lure the NFL back to Los Angeles says the Jacksonville Jaguars and Buffalo Bills are the first teams it will try to relocate.

Majestic Realty Co. managing partner John Semcken said Tuesday the teams are among at least seven franchises the company is considering for a new stadium just east of Los Angeles.

Semcken says the Jaguars and the Bills are at the top of the list because they play in small markets that tamp down their earning potential and because they have little hope of finding larger venues in their home regions.

- I guess they're just kidding right?

If Ralph dies in the next 2-3 years, it is hard to imagine someone paying $700m for the team and keeping it in a market with the lowest ticket price in the league. If he hangs on for 5 years, the Jags will probably be the team as their situation will be very desperate within that time. It all depends on when Ralph dies. Terrible way to look at it, but timing is everything on this..

"The company behind a plan to lure the NFL back to Los Angeles said Tuesday that the Jacksonville Jaguars and Buffalo Bills are the first teams it will try to relocate to Southern California........................

Jaguars majority owner Wayne Weaver and Bills owner Ralph Wilson have steadfastly dismissed any suggestion that they will sell or move their teams............

Semcken said Majestic will not approach the 49ers, Chargers or Vikings as long as those teams are seeking stadium plans of their own. He said it wouldn't be fair to interfere with their efforts to remain in their home markets.........

Semcken also said Majestic chief executive Ed Roski's preference is to find owners willing to sell their franchise to a consortium of investors that he would lead, rather than buying a minority stake in a team that would move with its existing majority owner at the helm."

So, after all this, he's going after....the Bills or Jax? Weaver has said he might consider Orlando. Ralph won't move---and if he dies/sells does anyone think there is an owner or group who is going to cede leadership to "Ed Roski"?

Great business plan, Ed. How's the commercial reeal estate market in SoCal?

if we are talking about fairness. How is it fair to rip the hearts out of thousands and thousands of people? People who pack a stadium in a near blizzard with a subzero degree wind chill to watch a meaningless game may think this is not fair. For these people (us), these Sundays are a way of life...... And this billionaire punk thinks its fair to attempt to rip this team away from us.

Why doesnt he go bother the NFL to add a couple expansion teams?

As far as ticket prices go.... if the team is competitive, there is a lot of room to increase those prices.... Did anyone look at stubhub/ebay during the 1st 6 games last season?

Yeah, internet tickets are a lot easier to come by once the winter weather arrives...and home tickets are priced at what the area can support, just like the tickets in Toronto or any other place are priced at what the market will bear...its all about the math.

yes, but if the team isnt a pile of crap like it has been for more than a decade, the area is willing to support prices that are higher than they are currently charging.

LA stadium builder: Jaguars, Bills first on list

The company behind a plan to lure the NFL back to Los Angeles said Tuesday the Jacksonville Jaguars and Buffalo Bills are the first teams it will try to relocate.

LOS ANGELES —

The company behind a plan to lure the NFL back to Los Angeles said Tuesday the Jacksonville Jaguars and Buffalo Bills are the first teams it will try to relocate.

Majestic Realty Co. managing partner John Semcken said the company is still considering at least seven franchises for a new stadium some 25 miles east of Los Angeles.

They also include the San Francisco 49ers, San Diego Chargers, Minnesota Vikings, St. Louis Rams and Oakland Raiders.

But he said the Jaguars and the Bills are at the top of the list because they play in small markets that tamp down their earning potential and because they have little hope of building larger venues in their home regions.

"Jacksonville and Buffalo are two teams in very, very small markets, he said. "They are teams that have either outdated stadiums or are having trouble filling their stadiums or both."

The Jaguars have struggled for years to fill Jacksonville Municipal Stadium and had several games blacked out on local TV this season. The Bills, meanwhile, have been playing some home games in Toronto in an effort to expand their market.

Messages were left seeking comment from the Jaguars and Bills.

Jaguars majority owner Wayne Weaver and Bills owner Ralph Wilson have steadfastly dismissed any suggestion they will sell or move their teams.

Semcken said Majestic won't approach the 49ers, Chargers or Vikings as long as they are seeking stadium plans of their own. He said it would not be fair to interfere with their efforts to remain in their home markets.

Semcken also said Majestic chief executive Ed Roski's preference is to find owners willing to sell their franchise to a consortium of investors that he would lead, rather than buying a minority stake in a team that would move with its existing majority owner at the helm.

Personally, I think this is someone talking out his arse. I doubt that the NFL will allow Buffalo to relocate, while teams like Jacksonville and St. Louis have severe attendance issues.

Of course the league would allow Buffalo to move. The leagu is run by the owners, and the owners care about $$$. Do you think someone that cares about $$ would keep a team in a market where they have to be the lowest priced in teh league on order to sell tickets?

Can you imagine the scene at the airport if these guys did come in to Buffalo to try this. Man it could get ugly and fast. I dont think they would leave in one piece...

Even better is that they hope to announce the team that is moving just prior to or at the same time as the Super Bowl on the 7th. That is right...they plan to buy the Bills within a month.

A few thoughts:

1) I think Semcken actually is being shrewd by making a play for a team sale in 2010, while the estate tax is not in effect. If Ralph doesn't play ball with Semcken, who seems to have the dollars and desire to buy, in a year when the sale proceeds would not be subject to the estate tax, he's NEVER gonna sell!

2) Semcken is actually doing Bills fans a favor by being a reminder to Ralph that the wolves are at the door and that if he doesn't proactively make succession plan provisions, WNY will lose this team to another city.

Did you watch any of the Penn State-LSU game?

That was Orlando's excuse for a stadium. The Mouse had better start working on a new one if they want a team.

Maybe they will play inside space mountain... :D

But seriously, the Jags do cover a lot of seats up in their stadium.

Well said! Two things to say on this. First, take this proposal very seriously. These people are not kidding around. Second, do not wait to fight for the Buffalo Bills, BE LOUD AND BE OUTSPOKEN. Remember what they did to Cleveland, Houston, Baltimore, etc.? They supported their teams also. And don't act like it is a lost cause or it will be. That's three things. Whatever... The NFL was made by people like us. The owners got rich because of people like us. We fill RWS and travel very well. Fight them and fight this!
