Perfectly aligned with what Michael Lombardi wrote several weeks ago. Seems in line with Parcells' philosophy with the G'ints:

"This is an industrial town. The people here want to know you gave them a 100% tough battle on the field. There are no fancy players on this team, only tough, proud men. The team is an indication of the type of people in the town. They're warm and friendly, but they know you have to be tough as a way of life. We don't have any glamour boys like Los Angeles or San Diego."

so the solution is to hire a southerner to pick the players. a southerner who coached in the south and helped build a west coast team. yes, this will work out..

um they won 11 in a row, have not lost a December game in years, and Vegas has them 3.5 to 1 to win the Superbowl- the second lowest odds.

You do watch football, don't you?

uh, does Buffalo still have industry?

I wonder how this philosophy would work in San Francisco.

Industry and industriousness are still the identity of the city.

No nonsense. Blue collar. Hardworking. Lunch pail.

The City of no Illusions.

Rivers. Tough, nasty OL. Huge recievers. Huge DL. Tomlinson. Merriman. Routinely a top running team. Routinely a top defense. Out-muscled the colts a couple years ago. Rivers playing on one leg in last year's playoff game.

One thing that team has never lacked since they started becoming an elite NFL team is team toughness. Do you remember that Bills game in San Diego a couple years ago? They just completely intimidated us. And physically beat the hell out of us.
