Astrojanitor
I just finished "One Second After" by William Forstchen Essentialy it's about the aftermath of an EMP attack on the US. I highly recommend it. I'm reading "It Came From Memphis" by Robert Gordon. it's a brilliant breakdown of why Memphis was the only town that could have birthed rock and roll. Really amazing book can not recommend it enough

Cugalabanza
I'm not normally big on historical fiction, but I recently read City of Thieves by David Benioff and loved every second of it. It's one man's account of his experiences during the siege of Leningrad. David Benioff is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. His short story collection, When the Nines Roll Over is really great too.
Just Jack
Borrowed this from my Dad.... The Greatest Stories Never Told: 100 Tales from History to Astonish, Bewilder, and Stupefy Each story is 2 pages, so it makes a good bathroom book. I'm finding it very interesting, for instance I did not know that the US (along with several other nations) sent troops to Russia to fight the Communists in 1918.
