You know, that's what everyone says about the 2000 draft, but my recollection is that the Bills wanted Ahmad Plummer in rd 1 but lost out to the Niners, and wanted Mike Brown/Deon Grant in rd 2 but lost out to the Bears/Panthers. A combination of bad luck and shaky decision-making after their primary options disappeared, basically.

That's part of the problem with the Bills. They target specific players, but instead of trying to move up to get them, they wait and then end up taking a poor consolation prize.

traded up to get Losman

traded up to get McCargo

traded up to get Poz

traded up to get Levitre

we do make moves (whether they work out or not is another story), but i agree that we often end up taking Plan B on a lot of other picks. Should have bumped up to take Willis instead of settling for Lynch, etc.
