Nanker Posted November 21, 2004 Posted November 21, 2004 on your football watching habits? We're nearly four years into a new era, and the Bills continue to be less than mediocre. Has the acculumative effect of our recent history worn you down? Does this affect how much you watch football? Do you still watch football as much now as you did say, 3-5 years ago? I don't get to watch many Bills games anymore, so I weaned off my Sunday TV addiction years ago. Just wondering what the Bills TV ratings are in Western NY on Sundays these days.
Thailog80 Posted November 21, 2004 Posted November 21, 2004 I still suffer through every game good or bad. It's a ship wreck and Im going down with the ship. I love them....they hate me.

That would never happen if I had an ounce of faith in the Bills.

I love them....they hate me. 126764 I honestly think my drop off in watching has to do with the availbility of the Bills on TV. I'm pretty sure if they were on I'd watch 'em. But it's amazing to me how easy it is to NOT watch other games. Maybe I need NFL Levitra. And... is't it "He-Hate-Me" and wasn't he on the St.Louie Rams?
Mark VI Posted November 21, 2004 Posted November 21, 2004 I love the game of Football. Watch multiple Pro and College games every week, no matter what. You can't take losing to heart, since you don't have one ounce of control over it. Enjoy the best game on the planet.
Nanker Posted November 21, 2004 Author Posted November 21, 2004 That was me above 126772 That's what got me thinking about this post. I fell asleep before the game started! Never saw even a clip until the Lowlights on ESPN the next morning. All things considered, I think I did the right thing.

Campy Posted November 21, 2004 Posted November 21, 2004 on your football watching habits? 126763 Hell no.

But they just don't entertain. It's terrible football. They can't move the ball because the offense is actually worse than it was last season. The coaching now comes into question and has been bad. None of the promises that anyone in the organization have made have come to pass. I made the mistake before but I'm not buying seasons next year. I may buy tickets to a game or two, but not seasons. I honestly just can't make it through four quaters of this junk. It's awful. I've seen better games from Miami this season.

Never saw even a clip until the Lowlights on ESPN the next morning. All things considered, I think I did the right thing. 126783 It's not that I don't want to watch and support them, I just refuse to waste time in my life watching crap. I'll never refuse to watch a game, in fact I get mad if something else comes up during a game. But if they are playing like a Pee-Wee football team, I won't waste time watching it. If the Eagles and Patriots were on the other channel and the Bills were getting blown out, I'd be changing the channel in favor of some great football. I wasn't all that upset when they didn't sell out (I got a lot accomplished with them on the radio instead) and I've taken more then one nap during a game this year. My company also has a raffle for two tickets to every home game. I didn't put in for this weeks because I have a lot to do today. Things I would have reworked for a good team that shows up to play every week.

rockpile Posted November 21, 2004 Posted November 21, 2004 on your football watching habits?126763 From a game watching / fan perspective nothing has changed for me. I watch every game (some on tape delay because I have a life, too) and I go to 2 or 3 games a year. Same pattern for 25 years. Does this mean I am BOVINELY CONTENT with the product on the field? NFW! I am disturbed that the Drew experiment has not been shelved. I am even more disturbed at TDs win/loss record. I am waiting for someone at OBD to wake up and make some real changes! I am tired of reading quotes like this one from Leo Roth "There is no sugar-coating how bad the Bills performed in their 29-6 loss to the Patriots or how damaging a defeat it was to the entire rebuilding program, which stands at 20-37 under general manager Tom Donahoe." TD is still rebuilding? Puh-leeze - this is not the Taj Mahal, this is a football program. So I have vented for the day. Soon I will have my tape set up and my game face on. GO BILLS!

They have some real talent on this team, but for whatever reason, they just don't seem to put it together and win many games. If I had a magic wand, I'd wave it and fix their problems, but I'm not sure that I'd know exactly what to fix. I (and I know I'm not the only person) have been watching this team for 30-plus years (I'm 36). As frustrated as I get, I just don't see myself giving up on them - Too much history.
