Reed83HOF Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 I just saw it here linky Nothing too official though
bills_red Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 From a source lol, you got it from this http://twitter.com/BloRumblings
buffalo1983 Posted December 31, 2009 Author Posted December 31, 2009 Didn't get it from there, but ok.... I guess he will be part of the Press Conference as well.
DanInUticaTampa Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Well, Nix is already !@#$ing up and he has been in control for 5 minutes!
buffalo1983 Posted December 31, 2009 Author Posted December 31, 2009 Russ was the one to make this move. Thomas kind of hinted toward this for a while now. No surprised. Its not like he will be the main guy but just added as another guy. Nothing wrong with having someone that knows the game in there and that actually cares a lot about the team.

DanInUticaTampa Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 I wouldn't mind it as an added extra. But having him as part of the core would be a little disturbing.

Magox Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 I think it's pretty obvious that Thomas wants to get involved in footbal in a meaningful way again and that he is working up the ranks to do it. He's probably been lobbying for this or something along these lines for a while now.

nodnarb Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 I've often feared that "glory days" players would be pulled in for such roles, as if they had any real ability beyond appeasing a few fans who want to live in that past. If Thurman is made a scout, Nix's credibility will suffer. He should be stocking us with proven talent, not feel good picks as some homage to the past.
evilcape Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 whatever man. thurman loves this team, and an extra pair of eyes won't hurt. i don't want him to be THE GUY, but a guy scouting game film and making suggestions of who may be good players. Remember this HOF'er played against tons of good players, so i bet he has a pretty decent eye as to who may be good talent.
Chalkie Gerzowski Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 some twit twitted that Tom Dempsey will be the new special teams coach (place-kicking).

Yeah, the guy who mis-placed his helmet fits right in that FO.
purple haze Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Yeah, the guy who mis-placed his helmet fits right in that FO. You mean the guy in the hall of fame.
JDHILL Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Yeah, the guy who mis-placed his helmet fits right in that FO. you are an idiot
Tom Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 On NFL.COM Bills hall of famers Jim Kelly and Thurman Thomas attended the news conference. Both are familiar with Nix, whose stint in Buffalo overlapped their careers. And both said they are willing to assist Nix in whatever capacity, with Thomas saying he has been asked to serve in some type of scouting role.
