Based on what? He is a friggin scout! Look Wolf, Casserly etal are sitting out there with acomplished resumes. How many people did they bring in? None!

Bottom line this is Cheap assed, scared, egotistical ralph not willing to pay or hand over control. But hey you lemmings will lap it up. Just like I have said in other posts, he could hire satan and you guys would make excuses as to why this was a good hire.

Satan would be a great hire. Has no scruples about anything and would lie, cheat and whatever to get it done.....

Hey it worked for the Pats*....

They're announcing that Bill Cowher is volunteering to be added to the no-fly list to Buffalo, following the lead of Mike Shanahan.

Or at midnight tonight, Ralph's balls will drop to the floor to bring in the new year.

its not going to be nix, only way its nix is if cowher told them he would be happy with him as gm. i would think cowher would bring in his own gm though.....

Get off the Cowher thing please. Not happening.

I'll say it again: talent evaluation and team-building are COMPLETELY different. You need BOTH. What evidence do we have that Nix can do the latter? None. I agree with ICE here.

And if we had hired Dave Gettleman? Would you people still be bitching about him being a #2 guy?

Perhaps. But he is younger, remains employed, and has experience co-running one of the most finely-tuned franchises in the NFL. The Giants are a model for how to build a team. Great coaches, great players that are drafted to fit a very specific system and style.

Nix would be an extremely capable GM, I don't know why people are bitching.

Me either... The man is a fantastic proven talent evaluator.

...there is no way in hell he could even be partly blamed for the abortion the Bills call football over the last decade.

LOL That is brilliant, honestly couldn't have said it better myself.

I'm cool with Nix... not Modrak but Nix is a good call. We need a guy like him making real football decisions... after all he's been around long enough to know what talent is LOL.

By the way, Nix is from outside the organization. He was brought on at the beginning of this season. I believe he had a falling out with AJ Smith (big surprise).

He was AJ's assistant GM/director of college scouting for years.

:bag: Nix is not from outside the organization. He works for the Bills. He was one of the people that pulled up stakes when John Butler loaded up the moving truck and drove off for San Diego. Nix has been passed over for a couple of GM jobs in the past, most recently the Falcons gig. He was AJ Smith's right-hand man but started talking about retirement after the Falcons went in another direction. The Bills hired him as a sort of scout emeritus, wanting to get his input for the draft.

Now, apparently he's been given some Viagra and is full of vim and vigor and ready to re-build a shattered organization from the mud up. OK, then.
