BeastMode54 Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Excuse me. The bitching is justified. How are you convinced that the Bills even did a thorough hiring search? They hired internally. What other GM candidates were even interviewed, seeing as how the season isn't over? And Brandon presumably gets promoted to President and COO. What has he done to justify that? He was almost singularly responsible for allowing the organization to go into the season with almost no chance of succeeding. And he gets promoted. Businesses are just not run this way. Great post. This is EXACTLY the problem. The season isn't over yet. They ALWAYS hire internally it seems. Do some damn work and due diligence and take TIME to make the right decision

PromoTheRobot Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Not offended. I am not sure how I can prove it you without compromising anyone. You mom says get off the computer and shovel the driveway. PTR
erynthered Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Not offended. I am not sure how I can prove it you without compromising anyone. How long have you known?

Yes, bitching about hiring one of the best talent evaluators in the NFL is justified. The guy has drafted about a dozen pro-bowlers, and helped build one of the best teams in the NFL.
Hammered a Lot Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Sahlens delivery truck just pulled into OBD, Charlie Weiss in town?
Nevergiveup Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 You mom says get off the computer and shovel the driveway. PTR Funny. I likely won't get an apology from you at 2:30.
The Big Cat Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Okay everybody, 65 minutes until everyone gets pissed off at the Bills organization for not fulfilling their speculation of pulling a giant rabbit out of its ass!
NY Nole Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 its not nix, hes to old reminds me of the movie major league when the opposing team hit a home run and the fan in the stands says "no,no,no -- it's too high!"
Warren Zevon Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Yes, bitching about hiring one of the best talent evaluators in the NFL is justified. The guy has drafted about a dozen pro-bowlers, and helped build one of the best teams in the NFL. He's already in our organization. Why promote him? He HELPED build teams as a scout. he's a great scout. Keep him in that role and get a real GM.
Coach Tuesday Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Yes, bitching about hiring one of the best talent evaluators in the NFL is justified. The guy has drafted about a dozen pro-bowlers, and helped build one of the best teams in the NFL. He was ALREADY HIRED to do just that, months ago. They didn't need to promote him. Let him continue to evaluate talent, which you say he's so good at, under the direction of someone who actually has hired coaches, sold tickets, and built a team.
BillsVet Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Yes, bitching about hiring one of the best talent evaluators in the NFL is justified. The guy has drafted about a dozen pro-bowlers, and helped build one of the best teams in the NFL. So A.J. Smith did nothing but sit back and watch Buddy do his wonder work? If that's the case, wouldn't the rest of the league know Smith was a figurehead and Nix played Coach Klein to Red Beaulieu? Common sense isn't so common anymore.
Brandon Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Apparently he has a strong relationship with Cowher. Modrak as GM could signal Cowher as HC. But Nix also worked with the chin before too, so who knows. As for Modrak, there are whispers that his draft picks were overruled by Dick(less) Jauron and Ralph. He targeted some of the players who we all said should have been drafted. PTR I'e always suspected that was the case with Modrak and that he was probably getting blame he didn't deserve. If he's the new GM, though, some of the yahoos are going to be up in arms, so Ralph and Russ had better do a thorough job of explaining that...and taking the blame themselves...if its true.
Sisyphean Bills Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Nix is in no way responsible for these Bills teams. It seems like people on this board just like to B word and moan. You are the only one in this thread that even suggested anything of the sort. You're still dead wrong that Nix is "from outside the organization". It's a fact that he has been working for the Bills this year.
Metal Man Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Yes, bitching about hiring one of the best talent evaluators in the NFL is justified. The guy has drafted about a dozen pro-bowlers, and helped build one of the best teams in the NFL. It doesn't seem like people are bitching so much about choosing him as they are bitching about the Bills jumping the gun a bit on this one versus maybe doing a little interviewing just to be thorough...?
macaroni Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Hmmmm .... just for fun .... and to get off the GM/HC debate .... Could it be that TO has felt sooooooo welcomed by the fans of western New York he has decided to end his career in Buffalo to help build the franchise and is signing an extension????
Nevergiveup Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 How long have you known? Not long. I can't really answer that.
zdro22 Posted December 31, 2009 Author Posted December 31, 2009 Okay everybody, 65 minutes until everyone gets pissed off at the Bills organization for not fulfilling their speculation of pulling a giant rabbit out of its ass! 64 mins until you and c.bisquit praise ralph and the team regardless of the move they make..the fan base has earned its right to be skeptical and pissed off.
