pBills Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 He is young and is a good QB with upside. yeah, we've see that before.
C.Biscuit97 Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Sports "reporting" is such a joke. The Bills have bad Qbs and need one. So they might trade for one. Throw enough crap on the wall and some will stick.
Las Vegas Calling... Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Why would any team want to trade for Vick when the Eagles will cut him anyway? For that matter, why would any team trade for ANY of the QB's named? I would not trade for any of those gus.

Throw enough crap on the wall and some will stick. Actually the reporting is bad because they don't mention Kevin Kolb. He's a guy that the Bills should consider targeting for a trade. But the dopes over at ESPN can't see past a name like Michael Vick to observe an even better option on the Eagles roster.
dhg Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 God, I hope not. Agree completely with you. No thanks.

Cotton Fitzsimmons Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 I doubt the Eagles will part with Kolb. They will dump Vick however. PTR Kolb = Schaub
Flbillsfan#1 Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 I doubt the Eagles will part with Kolb. They will dump Vick however. PTR I agree, WHY would the Eagles want to trade Kolb? That would make no sense.
1billsfan Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 I agree, WHY would the Eagles want to trade Kolb? That would make no sense. Kolb's contract runs out after next season. If McNabb is given an extension then it makes perfect sense to trade Kolb before he's gone. If they can add a solid starter at a position of need through a 2nd rd draft pick or a swap of firsts then why wouldn't you do it. They could then sign a decent #2 QB in the free agent market.

The reason you wouldn't do it is because you know what you have in Kolb & he KNOWS your system. You sign him to a new contract, that would be the logical thing to do IF you are happy with him.

You sign him to a new contract, that would be the logical thing to do IF you are happy with him. Never going to happen. Like Hasselback and Shaub, Kolb is ready to be a starting QB. So Kolb isn't going to sign a new contract with the Eagles, unless they cut ties with McNabb (which they clearly aren't going to do). If he isn't traded and given a new contract by his new team, Kolb will just wait until he turns a free agent and the Eagles will have nothing to show for it. Plus, the Eagles will not be offering Kolb a starting QB's contract even if he was willing to be a backup.
Maddog69 Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 What about signing Kyle Orton? He is a UFA after the season (unless next year is Uncapped - in which case he would be an RFA) He's not flashy but he seems to win most of the games he starts while other QBs with the same team are not as successful. He might be a good 2-3 year solution to the instability we've seen at QB since Jim Kelly retired.
KOKBILLS Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 ESPN Insider should hire Jauron to write a column and call it Dick Insider
Mr. WEO Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Bulger is actually an interesting name......he HAS been productive in the past....a veteran, accurate, good decision maker and can make all the throws...... But if we are going to pick him that first pick better be a LT.......and we better fortify at all of the OL positions not named center and guard. So why is Bulger doing so poorly in SL? How will it be different for him here? The funniest part of this is Smith "demanding a trade". WHAT?? Nobodies cant' demand stuff! What's wrong with that kid? He can't compete with Flacco.

WHAT?? Nobodies cant' demand stuff! What's wrong with that kid? He can't compete with Flacco. He actually beat out Flacco during the 2008 preseason. The Ravens were prepared to start him but he came down with a rare case of tonsillitis and lost alot of time and weight. Flacco went on to have a really solid rookie season and the starting job was no longer a question. Troy Smith is a RFA, I see no problem with him wanting to play somewhere else. The Bills need players with confidence and desire.

Happens all the time with a player doing badly in one place and starting over in a new one. Not saying Bulger will be great, but I'd toss a third round pick at the Rams for him. Roll the dice
Fewell733 Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 I'd be interested in Troy Smith and Jason Campbell. Maybe Bulger as a 1 year stop gap to make way for a rookie. I doubt Orton sees the open market. Really its hard to name a QB that anyone has heard of that wouldn't possibly be an upgrade (ok, Jon Kitna)
