Malazan Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Thank you for this excellent post! Ralph ain't going anywhere. Never was. People keep saying this---it's just insane. You're right, Ralph isn't moving the team anywhere. Who's ponying up a billion dollars to keep them in Buffalo when he dies?
Mr. WEO Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Remember all the Season ticket holders declining to renew their season tickets until TO was signed? . No, I don't remember all the season ticket holders doing this. But the City of Buffalo is just as fortunate to have an owner who has very little debt and is content just to breakeven and not need to compete with the Jones, Krafts, and Snyders in the league when it comes to their "toys" Just breaking even? What planet are you from? Anyway....... The three worst? Irsya was pretty bad packing up and moving the team to Indy in the middle of the night---but hey, both Baltimore and Indy have won SB's in the past ten years (Ralph, of course, has brought 0 Lombardies to Buffalo), so who's really complaining? The Baltimore elderly? Bud Adams would have stayed in Houston if they had built him the stadium that he asked for (and was going to put up 1/3 for)---and which they soon after built anyway for the Texans. Would have to say......Davis (he's not human), the Fords, Lerner. All with similarly stupid personnel moves.
BillsfaninFl Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 This clown has done virtually NOTHING for 4 years now, except bring in Marv and show up for thering ceremony (after canceling the 1st time). Oh yeah, he did fire Jauron after giving him an extension, so I'm not sure if that one counts. I can't say anyone has been worse, but Al Davis (Oakland) has destroyed his team, too. Other meddling owners like Jerry Jones (Dallas) have made better decisions part of the time. Big spenders like Snyder (Washington) haven't bought Super Bowls, but they haven't reduced their teams to rubble, either. So Ralph may be the worst there is, or second only to Al Davis.
bills in va Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Good Now Don't cry when he picks up HIS team, and moves them somewhere where he can actually turn a decent profit Seriously, if he is such a problem, go find a team that hasa better owner that you can cheer for, or, take a gun, put it in your mouth, then pull the trigger................. Quit crying over stuff you can't control. Having an NFL team is not a right, its a privilege. No oe is forcing you to be a fan or to cheer for a specific team. The NFL is a buisness, and Buffalo is not a place where this buisness can thrive, especially with a new owner who is going to have debts in order to pay for the team Quit crying over stuff you cant control? Why have this board? None of us can control anything the bills do except not buy tickets or merchandise. So let people vent if they want to and complaining is therapeutic. God knows every Bills fan needs therapy.
buffaloaggie Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 First he was part of the team which built the Bills with a lot of others who contributed. Second lots of good employees get fired for misconduct and considering the reported misconduct was regarding the owner's daughter stupid misconduct. No matter what his opinion was he should have kept his mouth civil. If you think Ralph was going to choose Polin over his daughter you are not a father. And that's why the Bills are in their current state. You have the best GM/talent evaluator in the league, yet Ralph listens to his late daughter who wanted to draft Big Ten players because she went to Ohio State. Ralph Wilson hired Bill Polian to do a job, and when a family that does not know how to evaluate NFL talent meddles in that task, you wind up with this sorry Bills organization. Ralph has a responsibility to the organization, and that includes making sure his daughter didn't overstep her bounds. An NFL team should be run as a business and not a family affair. Take away Manning from the Colts and what do you have? But of course, the only reason that the Colts have manning is because of Polian, right? As I remember, it was a choice between Ryan Leaf and Manning. Polian made a good choice, right? Polian has drafted Edgerrin James over Ricky Williams, drafted Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, Bob Sanders, pulled Jeff Saturday and Gary Brackett out of undrafted free agency and almost forgot, drafted a guy named Dwight Freeney in the same draft that our braintrust took Mike Williams (even over Bryant McKinnie). Gotta love nepotism!!!
buffaloaggie Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 You're right, Ralph isn't moving the team anywhere. Who's ponying up a billion dollars to keep them in Buffalo when he dies? Jim Kelly and his group of investors.
