My fear with Brian Brohm

No Bills fans will not be hapy

A) He does terrible and all the Brohm haters can come out and be all i told you so i told you so i-i-i told you so

if he doesent throw for 300yds 4tds and not take a sack we will all throw things at him and tell him he is awful.

I for one dont care, if he plays and does well its only one game. Trent had a monster game against KC last yer, it was 1 game. If he plays terrible, its his first start while learning a new system.

If Brohm can show signs of greatness with the lack of talent that will be suiting up with him Sunday ,then i will be overjoyed. The 2 other QB's couldn't do it.There is alot of other QB castoffs that came from Green Bay over the years that are better than anything the Bills had the last 10 years.Matt Hasselbeck,Aaron Brooks,to name a few.1st round QB's are not always worth the hype...Matt Leinhart,Brady Quinn,J.P losman,Jamarcus Russell,to name a few...and there are so many more.Keep building the O-Line,and the Defense and the Bills will end the playoff drout. They dont need a star at QB to win, they need someone that cant manage a game, and not give it away.

We will learn nothing about how good Brian Brohm is. Typically it takes about 4 to 5 weeks of film for defenses to effectively scheme a QB, which explains why Mark Sanchez went from "Sanchise" to "Suck" around week 6. Even if Brohm plays well, it really doesn't mean anything in determining how good a player he is for next year. The best case scenario is that he sucks and its easy to determine he is not the answer. If he plays well, it may give the Bills false hope that he can be their QB next year and they might not be so inclined to take one in the draft with a high pick, which they desperately need to do...

I fear that Mr Brohm will look like the projected first pick he was suppose to be. By that I mean, he will come out against the 30th ranked pass defense and throw for 2 to 4 scores, and 250+ yards in a victory against the falcons. And remember this is an indoor game. While this is happening the Jets beat the colts, and during the game Manning gets roughed up a little.

Then next week, the colts rest Manning, and Brohm throws for 200+ yards and 2 scores in a victory over the colts.

That might sound great, but the colts have home field through the playoffs at that point. They are playing to not get injured.

So everyone in Buffalo is now thinking they have the QB of the future after all, these numbers project to 3600 yards passing and 40 TDs in a 16 game season. the problem of course being that neither team plays in the dreaded 3-4 defense, both play a similar defense to Buffalo. And Bufallo has made players look like hall of famers

And then the pain continues, we don't draft a QB even if Clauson is there. in 2010 Brohm comes out looking like the practice squad player the Packers made him, and suffer through the year again...then christmas 2010 we are talking about Locker.

Yeah, it would really suck if our players play well. Would you feel better if he plays like crap and is an embarrassment to watch? I know it's Christmas but....

This is actually a good point. The Falcons' pass defense is pretty poor too.

A good GM though wouldn't pass on a guy like Clausen, if he's there, even if there is some belief that Brohm could be the QB of the future.

A good GM would put a decent oline out there for a year before bringing in a new QB.

A great GM, Bill Polian, used his first pick on Manning.

The previous season the Colts used their first 2 picks on Tarik Glenn and Adam Meadows , then drafted Larry Moore and Steve McKinney along with Manning. They already had Jay Leeuwenberg. Regardless, Polian would have been smart enough to bring in good veteran OLinemen to protect his prize QB. The BILLS have shown they aren't very smart.

And last year, we used 1st and 2nd round picks on Eric Wood and Andy Levitre.

Polian drafted McKinney in the 4th round (he used the 2nd and 3rd round picks on WRs), and Moore was a low-level free agent pick-up. So, I think there's a lot of parallels to what the Colts did, only I would say we need to spend our 2nd rounder on OL and not wait until the 4th.

I agree this organization has not been very smart, but I think it will be a totally different group of people making the calls.

Jeez, why do people continue to try to turn what could be a positive into a negative?!? only on this board, sheesh!

If any QB can throw for 275+ yds and 2-4 TD's on a team with this O-line and under-achievers at WR and TE....we should be jumping for joy!

I'd be more than happy for Brohm to grab the reins and run with it. He's already way ahead of any QB coming out of the draft (in terms of NFL language and understanding of defense and speed of the game). If Brohm flops then so be it, can't be any worse than Fitz or Edwards has been. I suspect the Bills will grab a QB in the draft anyway.

Amen to that! We need help on both lines and a stud LB before we worry about a QB. Peyton Manning would suck behind this line. The Ravens won a SB with Trent Dilfer at QB. Build an awsome OL and DL and the wins will begin to pile up.

Why? What good would that do? So you have a good line & a CRAP QB, what does that get you? Just because the line is good one year, does NOT mean it will be good the next. Injuries happen, contracts expire, players hold out.

I guess i should clear this up, would not I be upset if the Bills did the unexpected and played well, of course not. But I feel the Bills' number one concern going into the draft is finding a QB. winning the last two games would take us out of the Clauson, Bradford, even Mallett sweepstakes. And we would end up drafting a 2nd tier LT, only Russell Okung is NFL ready and he will be long gone before Buffalo's pick. I am not saying throwing a game is what Buffalo should do. I would love to think that Brohm could be a starting QB, however i don't think he is. The Falcons and the Colts may not be good examples of how good or bad he is. recall the 99 season, the Bills started Rob Johnson on the final week of the season, he came out and played well, and he started the next week against the Titans in the playoffs. I think we can all agree that Flutie should have been starting. But the coaching staff felt that the switch had finally flipped with Johnson, well they were wrong.

I will be routing for Brohm, but I don't think that he is in the same class as Clauson, bradford or Mallett. I don't think the Bills should feel they have the QB of the future if he plays well it what some may call meaningless games...causing the "rob johnson effect"

You can't find a free agent QB this year, but you can find a free agent LT if you are willing to pay.
