major Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Yesterday, I was trying to think about who would be on the all decade team for our Buffalo Bills. Here is my take: Brian Moorman, Fred Jackson, Lee Evans, Jairus Byrd, London Fletcher, Ruben Brown, Antoine Winfield, Eric Moulds, Travis Henry I'm having such a hard time with this list, I can't even think who I would put down as the best QB, TE, etc. for this decade. I guess it would be Drew Bledsoe at QB (ouch!). I look forward to seeing what you all come up with.
The_Philster Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 QB-Bledsoe RB-Henry, Jackson FB-Centers WR-Moulds, Evans, Price TE-Riemersma OL-Jennings, Brown, Teague, Villarrial, Peters K-Lindell DE-Schobel, Kelsay DT-Adams, Stroud/Williams (Kyle or Pat) LB-Spikes, Fletcher, Crowell S-Whitner, Byrd CB-McGee, Winfield P-Moorman DT is the only hard one to narrow down...and arguments can be made for Clements at CB
DonInBuffalo Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Looking at the opening day roster for 2000, I see a few more names worthy of consideration: John Fina, Peerless Price, Phil Hansen, Ted Washington, Sam Cowart
bills_fan Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 QB-Flutie RB-Henry, Jackson FB-Centers WR-Moulds, Evans, Price TE-Riemersma OL-Jennings, Brown, Teague, Ross Tucker, Peters K-Lindell DE-Schobel, Kelsay DT-Adams, Pat Williams LB-Spikes, Fletcher, Crowell S-Whitner, Byrd CB-McGee, Winfield P-Moorman I only say Frutie because he was the only Bills QB with a winning record, starting 5 games in 2000 and going 4-1. How sad.
The Big Cat Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Wow, two squads starting the great white hypes at DE! I disagree with Adams at DT, though. I'd put Stroud, even Williams there before Fat Sam.
todzilla Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 I know everyone is in love with Fred Jackson, but all decade, really? Lynch and McGahee (hate him, but still) had better numbers this decade. I like Freddie alot, but his 800 yards this year don't cut it for the decade. Big Sam and Pat Williams would be my 2 DT's. And I'd go Winfield and Clements at corner with McGee as the nickel and return man. I'm not sure this team even makes the playoffs.
Rico Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 QB-FlutieRB-Henry, Jackson FB-Centers WR-Moulds, Evans, Price TE-Riemersma OL-Jennings, Brown, Teague, Ross Tucker, Peters K-Lindell DE-Schobel, Kelsay DT-Adams, Pat Williams LB-Spikes, Fletcher, Crowell S-Whitner, Byrd CB-McGee, Winfield P-Moorman I only say Frutie because he was the only Bills QB with a winning record, starting 5 games in 2000 and going 4-1. How sad. Plus Brain Dead Drew killed the team. Flutie, thanks to his last game as a Bill.
timbuk3 Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 QB-FlutieRB-Henry, Jackson FB-Centers WR-Moulds, Evans, Price TE-Riemersma OL-Jennings, Brown, Teague, Ross Tucker, Peters K-Lindell DE-Schobel, Kelsay DT-Adams, Pat Williams LB-Spikes, Fletcher, Crowell S-Whitner, Byrd CB-McGee, Winfield P-Moorman I only say Frutie because he was the only Bills QB with a winning record, starting 5 games in 2000 and going 4-1. How sad. Definitely a decade to forget.
AxelRipper Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 Wow, two squads starting the great white hypes at DE! we've had other DE's in the past decade?
Bullpen Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 Definitely a decade tgo forget. Jesus, no kidding. Really puts into perspective how incredibly mediocre the Bills have been over the last 10 years.
300yrds Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 QB-FlutieRB-Henry, Jackson FB-Centers WR-Moulds, Evans, Owens TE-Riemersma OL-Jennings, Brown, Teague, Villarrial, Peters K-Lindell DE-Schobel, Kelsay DT-Adams, Stroud/Williams (Pat) LB-Spikes, Fletcher, Crowell S-Whitner, Byrd CB-McGee, Winfield P-Moorman DT is the only hard one to narrow down...and arguments can be made for Clements at CB I take Owens over Peerless any day. Especially since his second stint here was garbage. Even though TO's only here for a year(and his production has been low), you cant possibly assume he is not one of the top 3 wr's to play here in the last decade. Flutie Bledsoe is a tough one. Have we had anybody worth mentioning at DE other than Schobel Kelsay in the last decade. Jackson might be the feel good player of the decade, but could make an arguement against him.
PushthePile Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 QB-FlutieRB-Henry, Jackson FB-Centers WR-Moulds, Evans, Price TE-Riemersma OL-Jennings, Brown, Teague, Ross Tucker, Peters K-Lindell DE-Schobel, Kelsay DT-Adams, Pat Williams LB-Spikes, Fletcher, Crowell S-Whitner, Byrd CB-McGee, Winfield P-Moorman I only say Frutie because he was the only Bills QB with a winning record, starting 5 games in 2000 and going 4-1. How sad. I'm not sure how that team would do if they all played together.
billsfreak Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 My team for the 2000's would be (and wow is that depressing when you look at it): QB-Bledsoe RB-Henry, Lynch FB-Gash WR-Moulds, Price, Evans TE-Riemersma T-FIna, Peters (tough to type that one-not a fan) G-R. Brown, Villareal C-Teague K- Lindell DT-P. Williams, S. Adams DE-Schobel, Kelsay LB-Cowart, Fletcher, Spikes CB-Winfield, Clements S-Malloy, Whitner (I can't put a player-Byrd-on an all-decade team with a half of a season under his belt) P-Moorman KR-McGee ST-Coy Wire
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 I can't describe how sad it is to read through this thread. Riemersma? Teague? These have been some lean years.
billsfreak Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 I can't describe how sad it is to read through this thread. Riemersma? Teague? These have been some lean years. You aren't kidding. We can put our decade team together for one season and it still finishes 3rd or 4th in the division against single season teams. Been a very forgettable decade. Has the organization ever recovered from the Music City Ripoff?

Rico Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 All Bizarro World What-If Team: Just imagine if each & everyone panned out, the team made the playoffs in 2005, and TD wasn't fired after that season: Add a few more years of draft picks to this awesome line-up: QB JP Losman RB Willis McGahee (All-Pro) WR Lee Evans WR Josh Reed (All-Pro) WR Roscoe Parrish TE Kevin Everett T Jason Peters (All-Pro) G Jonas Jennings C Duke Preston G Mike Pucillo T Mike Williams (All-Pro) DE Erik Flowers (All-Pro) DT Ron Edwards DT Tim Anderson DE Aaron Schobel SLB Angelo Crowell MLB London Fletcher (All-Pro) WLB Corey Moore CB Nate Clements (All-Pro) CB Terrence McGee SS Coy Wire FS Traveras Tillman

We can put our decade team together for one season and it still finishes 3rd or 4th in the division against single season teams. Been a very forgettable decade. Has the organization ever recovered from the Music City Ripoff? This organization has gone down hill ever since Polian left. Butler (may he rest in piece) was a mere shell of what Polian was. Any success after Polian left was really a residual of what he left behind, not what Butler brought in. Look at some of his drafts 1994 - Only Jeff Burris of note (and he really didn't do that much). 1995 - Only Ruben Brown of note. 1996 - Only Eric Moulds of note and maybe Jay Riemersma. 1997 - No one of any long term consequence. Antowain Smith good for 1-2 years. 1998 - Sam Cowart only. 1999 - Winfield (great for Vikings) and Peerless Price. 2000 - Complete waste. And then came Donahoe. And you wonder why this team is screwed up. :wallbash:
