Gene Frenkle
On the contrary, I'd prefer you kept sleeping right through it. Shouldn't be too difficult. Viva la Revolucion!
RI Bills Fan
So who here is pissed that every Naval Academy Midshipman gets $800 spending cash PER MONTH? At 1200 enrolled, that's approx $1M each month. And that's just Navy. Oh yeah, taxes also pay for their education, housing, and meals, and those have nothing to do with the $800 PER MONTH allowance. Are you talking about the same midshipmen who have signed a contract to serve in the navy for a minimum of 6 years after their graduation? The same ones who are subject to the UCMJ while they attend school and who serve on active duty during their summer breaks. The same ones who must meet minimum grade requirements or be expelled? The same ones who have to pay for the purchase and upkeep of their uniforms out of their monthly pay? Nope, they earn their money. Don't ever think that attending a service academy (with the exception of the Air Farce Academy) is in any way similar to attending a civilian college. keepthefaith
You wish. Wake me up when "The Revolution" starts. All the wreckless and poorly designed spending of this Congress and President doesn't have you wide awake? I don't care what side of the aisle you lean, everybody should be alarmed at the money congress is spending. Borrowed money.
KD in CA
Really? Obama will be thrilled to hear that we can hit the reset button and just forget about Iraq, Afganistan, and the recession. Damn, who knew it was so easy? Over and done, clean slate. As usual, all current sins are brush aside with yet another Iraq reference.

Some don't know/care/have the ability to comprehend that the bill will have to come due eventually.
BuffalOhio
Really? Bush would of have been thrilled to hear that we can hit the reset button on letting Bin Laden Escape, repealing GS, putting pressure on Fannie and Freddy to lend more than they should of and the aftermath of the tech bubble which led to his recession. Damn, who knew it was so easy? Over and done, clean slate. man, that was fun People seem to forget that all Clinton had to do was approve the hit, and Bin Laden would have been dead, but he didn't. I wonder what would have changed had Clinton approved it. He was in the sights and ready to be eliminated, but Clinton wouldn't approve it, and the course of history was changed. You're plucking at heart strings in me that simply don't exist. You're also implying that the 6 post-graduation years for commissioned officers aren't paid ones, so, yeah, no. pBills
Aholes. Obama and his assault on "fat cats" while he vacations in a $4000 a night tropical paradise for 2 weeks is something more than hypocritical. He's the worst, and I don't need to soften my opinion by bashing Bush. yeah, the President should stay at a Holiday Inn Express
1billsfan
yeah, the President should stay at a Holiday Inn Express http://newsbusters.org/blogs/brad-wilmouth...istmas-vacation "Imagine the outrage if any Republican President went on vacation during a recession and spent $4,000 a night on accommodations." "The ABC correspondent also recounted that the estate house overlooks a beach popular with royalty: "But it's the master bedroom and its breathtaking view that is the crown jewel. Kailua Beach has been ranked the island's best, a favorite of Hawaiian royalty." Any Democrat who can justify President Obama's disgustingly lavish vacation when there are millions of Americans currently out of work is an insanely hypocritical loony tune.
