Guest Guest Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 haha, you are too much, it seems to me like your looking to bring racism back with all this talk about it. get a life. 125886 No, just pointing out thing I see, grandmaster. Don't try and put 2 vastly different things in one pile.
rolly Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 No, just pointing out thing I see, grandmaster. Don't try and put 2 vastly different things in one pile. 125889 LOL, ok buddy. Sounds like you had one too many drinks tonite. Don't make assumptions towards people through a computer screen.
BF_in_Indiana Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 Yeah, Artest did a great job defending himself from that big, bad, scary plastic cup And in doing so he managed to disgrace the league...bloody (literally) brilliant. 125873 He didn't disgrace anyone. I think he did what anyone would do in that situation.
Guest Guest Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 You're damn right I do. Man I wish I could get an animated gif of Jermaine O'Neal jacking that pos. 125888 Didn't look like much of a punch. The both slipped on a wet floor. Artest ran from Wallace like a wussy.
kegtapr Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 First off, anyone who thinks that was great stuff is as much of an idiot as the fans and players involved. I'm no fan of the NBA but I am a fan of sports, and this was a disgrace to all involved. Any player that threw a punch in the stands should be suspended for the year and charged with assault. Anything less would be a joke. Players can NOT go into the stands for any reason. If you feel threatened, head to the locker room. There is no excuse, especially when it was a plastic cup you got hit with. Guy throws a plastic cup at me, if I were to respond with a punch I would be thrown in jail. You are expected to try and difuse the situation, not elevate it. Equal punishment for all. On the court between players is one thing, in the stands should be considered in public, not part of a sporting event. The fans that threw the cups and came on the court should also be charged with assault and/or inciting a riot. You don't get a free pass to do stupid stevestojan at a sporting event. You still need to abide by the law. Everyone involved needs to be made an example of. It's the only way to prevent this from becoming a more common thing in the future. Let these people off easy and you open pandoras box. This was a sad day for sports. If you took any pleasure in watching this you are part of the problem, not the solution. This was not sports, this was criminal.
CosmicBills Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 He didn't disgrace anyone. I think he did what anyone would do in that situation. 125892 Read my earlier post. None of this would have happened had Arest not gone into the stands. The fans were wrong and Artest was wrong. They both should be ashamed.

Wallace didn't look too bad to me. I'm still laughing my ass off at Detroit and their fans. What a bunch of bitches.
Guest Guest Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 LOL, ok buddy. Sounds like you had one too many drinks tonite. Don't make assumptions towards people through a computer screen. 125890 That might be true, but like I said, don't start trying to put 2 different things together. The fans I saw, one was a big black dude throwing punches, and the vast majority were a bunch of white guys in the stands and on the court throwing punches, challenging players and throwing beer. You happened to agree with that other post where he made it seem like it was all b/c of the black males.

CosmicBills Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 Ron Artest wasn't wrong at all. I wish he had gotten a few other punks before it was over. 125900 I feel sorry for you if you really believe that.
Guest Guest Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 He didn't disgrace anyone. I think he did what anyone would do in that situation. 125892 Run from Wallace? Yeah I'd do that too.
BF_in_Indiana Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 I feel sorry for you if you really believe that. 125903 Let me break it down to real life for you for a minute. Let's say you are walking down the street and some idiot threw a beer on you. What would you do? You would do exactly what my man Artest did. Kick his ass. Those other fans that wanted a piece got what was coming to them too. Like I said, I wish a few more of those punks had gotten what was coming to them too.
Guest Guest Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 Ron Artest wasn't wrong at all. I'm sick of fans that think just b/c they buy a ticket, they can do whatever they want. Shaq said he would've done the exact same thing, now I'd pay to see Shaq bust out the Shaq-Fu on a few KzooMike Piston fans.

It was an indictment of today's culture. It’s a shame you latched on to what appears to be a racial preoccupation you have.

The idiot on ESPN News said the same thing and he is flat out wrong. Arest was in NO DANGER. A Beer was thrown at him and he over reacted. He put himself in increadible danger by going into the stands. Were the fans right to throw beer? No absolutely not. Were they right to punch Artest? No! Was Artest right to go into the stands? No! Everyone is wrong. It is a sad, sad day. And if you are excited to see that than you have never been in a fight or witnessed violence first hand and know how scary and brutal it really is.

Kick his ass. 125908 Then you would get thrown in jail, because attacking someone who threw a beer on you and did nothing further isn't considered self defense, it's considered assault on both parties. Enjoy your stay, like Artest should. Your blind loyalty is a bit much when it fogs reality.

I think maybe I will get tickets to the rematch in Indiana on Christmas on EBay. I want to serenade the trash from Detroit.
