Dr. Trooth
People might not like to hear this, but the only way I see this team being better next year is if Vick is signed. A rookie QB will be a disaster behind this O-Line. What other veteran QB will be available? Bring Dungy in and perhaps he can quickly improve the defense. It's the best that can realistically be hoped for. #1... Dungy aint coming, that's a fact. He just said a week ago, he ain't coming back to coaching. #2... What would Vick and his career 76 passer rating do for this team? We already have two QBs like that. Vick will sell Tix, I'll give you that. But, the defenses within the division will chew him up and spit him out. They'll continue to defend the Bills as they have the past several seasons.... 8 & 9 in the box until you prove you can consistently beat me with the pass. Then, what if Vick goes down? You don't have a QB behind him who matches his skill set, thus you have to design another offense that the other 11 guys have to adjust to. There is an outside chance that Vick could get you enough wins for a playoff spot. But, in the playoffs with Vick at QB, you've got no chance whatsoever. I'd rather the Bills bring in a strong football guy... hire a coach, OC and OL coaches and fortify the two OT positions first.

I don't and I'd rather not put a rookie in there so we can go 2-14 and probably ruin that rookie QB long-term. I'd rather focus on incremental improvement with a long-term plan. Vick throws a decent deep ball and Evans is the best deep ball WR in the NFL. The need for a GM and Coach is obvious. If there is a different veteran QB available who can win behind what we have at OL, then I'm all for it, but just don't see anyone else out there.
