The White House just announced to Iran that the US is sorry for our actions in the Middle East, and to prove the war in Iraq wasn't about oil, has told Iran they can keep the well.

Wouldn't have happened if we had stayed out of Iraq and left them with their army as a strong counter force to Iranian influence in the region. Now they can't even defend their own oil fields. More consequences of a war of bad choice.

You're absolutely right. Iraq-Iran border disputes never happened before the war.

It seems likely you are right.

This is a pretty funny quote from the article

"What happens is, periodically, about every three or four months, the oil ministry guys from Iraq will go ... to fix something or do some maintenance. They'll paint it in Iraqi colours and throw an Iraqi flag up.

"They'll hang out there for a while, until they get tired, and as soon as they go away, the Iranians come down the hill and paint it Iranian colours and raise an Iranian flag. It happened about three months ago and it will probably happen again."
