The Jokeman Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 So as eluded in the subtitle I was inspired by the other thread as to what you feel the best Gene Wilder movie ever was? I'm guessing Blazing Saddles will take the crown but perhaps not. As I'll admit I'm really torn between in picking one. As Willy's a sentimental favorite and think his performance was great despite reports that the author of the book hated it. I'll also admit I'm in my 30s so the Woman in Red was the first movie that made me discover Wilder but also liked him in pretty much every title I listed but if you feel he was better in something I missed feel free to state your case here.
The Jokeman Posted December 17, 2009 Author Posted December 17, 2009 I'll go with 'The Frisco Kid.' Poll added so feel free to vote and now state your case why.
KD in CA Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 That was probably his best performance, but my favorite movie out of that crowd was Silver Streak.
Steely Dan Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 That was probably his best performance, but my favorite movie out of that crowd was Silver Streak. I went with Willy Wonka with Silver Streak this/close behind. Jill Clayburgh was my first crush. Wilder's singing is another talent of his.
Mark Vader Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 His performances in Willy Wonka & Young Frankenstein are top-notch. However I voted for Silver Streak, a great combo of adventure, romance and comedy. Besides, you've got this great scene.....
KD in CA Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Besides, you've got this great scene..... Can you imagine the outcry from the PC ninnies if that movie was released today?
