The new self-titled CD just put out by Them Crooked Vultures.

It's John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin), Dave Grohl (Nirvana/Foo Fighters), and Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age). Good bluesy rock, a modern return to Zep.

Any one of the Ella Fitzgerald songbooks - Harold Arlen, Cole Porter, etc.

Mozart's No. 25 and No. 29, performed by the Academy of Ancient Music. A most powerful presentation - it will shake your teeth and fling your hair backward. There is nothing else in the musical world that can compare to a symphony orchestra thundering in full voice...

Shawn Phillips' Second Contribution album. What a remarkable vocal range... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shawn_Phillips

Wow, I havent heard that name in a long time. I went to see him in concert at UB I believe, back in the mid-70's.

Good times. Thanks for the tweek of the brain, Stuck!!

You're welcome. I'm not smart about such, but to me, he has one of those voices that covers several octaves, and could carry a note forever...he goes from a baritone to a soprano in an instant. Amazing.

I haven't pulled that CD out in years, what a great album!

I'll go with a 2009 release. Porcupine Tree's The Incident. Including the Floyd-esque single Time Flies
