mead107 Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Set the tree up last night. Waiting for the wife to get home so we can decorate. When do you put up your tree?
UConn James Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Went artificial last year, so I break it out about a week after Thanksgiving. Having an issue with some of the lights right now. Narrowed down the string... changed fuses, now it says to go one-by-one to check for any loose connections. *Sigh* I'll have to put some Captain in the eggnog to have the patience for this. Really disappointed that it's having these troubles already.
Dan Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 And I thought I was the only person in the country to NOT put their tree up the day after Thanksgiving. I'm going to get mine this afternoon and we'll decorate tomorrow. Lights will go up on the house tomorrow as well (if weatherr permits).
eSJayDee Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Tree went up Thanksgiving. Still haven't finished tinseling it yet.
bartshan-83 Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Going with my dad tomorrow morning to the local tree farm we've used for 20 years. We used to get really big trees when I lived with my parents...sometimes 20'+...my mom has finally kaiboshed that though. We'll still probably cut him down a 10-12' tree and I'll grab a dinky 6-footer for my apartment. Every year my wife begs to switch to artificial. I see all the arguments and I think it would make my life 100x easier not to have to go through this process every year. But there is nothing like going out to a tree farm on a cold December day and sawing down your own tree, IMO. Clark !@#$ing Griswold baby...
Chef Jim Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Our apartment is too small for a tree this year but we usually put it up a week before Christmas. They didn't last too long in the soCal heat.

IDBillzFan Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Does San Fran even allow real trees? Wouldn't you have to turn in your granola card? Actually you are allowed a real tree in San Francisco, but when you buy it, you have to spend 15 minutes in the lot hugging it. Then it's yours.
Chandler#81 Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Tree went up Thanksgiving. Still haven't finished tinseling it yet. Ditto. Son was in from out of town, so we decorated earlier this year.
Nanker Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Taday! We're a bit late this year, but we always get a real tree - and try to get a Douglas Fir. Nice, nice. Very nice.
dib Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Our tree has been up since the saturday after Thanksgiving
Beerball Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Put mine up last Sunday, waiting for the kids to decorate it.
