Kingfish
Has he been as bad as his stats would indicate or are they misleading?
Thoner7
A late first round talent taken at the top of the draft IMO. I expect him to have the same type of career Lawrence Jackson is having.
Wilson from Gamehendge
Give them both, AND Maybin some time...I bet they fair just fine.
The Big Cat
He FLEW up the board in the week leading up to the 2009 draft. Whether his leap was because of his talent or whether he was chalked up as a sure-thing for the Chiefs and made the jump accordingly remains uncertain, I guess. Bflojohn
He went as high as he did because in most evaluations, he was the prototypical 5-technique 3-4 DE!! The Chiefs under the new coaching regime, was shifting to the 3-4, and sans a true NT in the first round in April, they opted (in their opinion) for the best DE fit. I can't quite blame them because I believe, in time, he will be a monster at that position, especially IF they find a NT, going forward!!
San Jose Bills Fan
Tyson Jackson has started all but one game this year for the Chiefs. I think if he sucked, they would sit him on the bench. I think he's a tremendous talent and will become a Richard Seymour type player. The guy was a wrecking ball in college playing against top SEC competition. Stats can be so irrelevant, especially for a 3-4 defensive end.

Fewell733
not sure players at his position really put up many stats. Mostly they hold their ground for others to make plays. But I'm not thinking the Chiefs make many plays, period.
Sisyphean Bills
5-technique is outside the tackle, right? Depends on the coach. Here is an excellent article on the subject. http://www.trojanfootballanalysis.com/usc_...nt_defense.html
silvermike
Depends on the coach. Here is an excellent article on the subject. http://www.trojanfootballanalysis.com/usc_...nt_defense.html Excellent, thank you. What did Bruce Smith play? I keep remembering that we had him mostly in a 2-gap system, which means his stats aren't just beastly, they're legendary.
Fingon
He rose up the draft boards because there is an extreme shortage on 3-4 players. Which is the biggest reason why it would be idiotic to switch to the 3-4.
