I meant the part about not having a life outside a business, as one could easily infer by the quote.

But as far as I can tell, the doom upon his business, family, heirs, humanity, et al remains speculative at this point.

.

You couldn't have misunderstood my comment more if you had Bishop and Conner helping you think.

Then these must be the simplest hardest to interpret sentences ever written. You're right, I guess it's my fault.

Yeah, still not getting it but once again I'm not surprised. Words of advice for you. Never, ever attempt to start your own business, you'll fail miserably.

Please stop doing my thinking for me. You keep failing, miserably.

I !@#$ing get it. My father is a business owner, I get it. But my father never once proclaimed that his entire life, family, et al hung in the balance of his own pessimistic speculation. Why? Because a.) he doesn't have partisan trigger finger and b.) because he has a perspective on life that doesn't box him in to his bottom line.

The fact that anyone would make such a resounding statement given the above factors is a tremendous bummer. In fact, it's sad.

He's not doing your thinking for you - that's PBS's job. He's just offering you a word of advice.

Nice to hear of your dad's success. It's insulated you from a lot.

Get back to us in twenty years when you've been out on your own and let us know how you're doing.

It'll be interesting to hear, I'm sure - especially if you don't join your dad's business.

Way to be the bigger man. You can lob your pathetic insults at me all day long, but keep my parents out of it. My dad has been wonderfully successful and while I've never met you, your habit for message board chest thumping leads me to believe he's twice the man you'll ever be. Nice life.

That's great news regarding your dad, I love success stories. But I bet if you ask him how much his business is/was on his mind he'll probably say 24/7. Ask him how much time he spent worrying how the complex tax laws would affect his daily operation he'd probably tell you constantly. My dad was also a very successful small business owner and I know these things consumed him and I don't mean that in a bad way. That's what drives entrepreneurs to be successful. And that's what LA was talking about.

I still bet my dad could beat up yours.

Where are the lefties here gimmie a break! About 90 percent of the topics here are utter horseshit, far right talking points gleaned from Newsmax or World net daily. It runs from the usual far right global warming hoax nonsense to the mindnumbing and inane criticism of Obama...day after day after phucking day.

Christ you guys were fortunate enough to have me come along and interrupt your jack session a couple days ago with the funniest thread since the original Palin post.

Face it...like most far right conservatives you really don't want to hear anything to upend your save little insular worldview.

That's why this board is so goddam boring now.

For the record, my old man is 6'5" 260. He's a bona fide ass kicker.

And he would NEVER say "My business is my life. It's everything I have."

Let's stop the back-tracking now, please.

That's why I don't even bother to engage in any debate- it is like banging your head against a brick wall and getting it all bloodied; quite pointless indeed. NOW they complain that everyone left... hmmm I wonder WHY? Who honestly wants to waste their time being insulted and be called all sorts of names just to provide a counter to a bevy of extremely slanted talking points from biased sources? Not me... and then they question if you are real? A laugh indeed.

Do you understand the difference between "on my mind 24/7" and "is my life, it's everything I have"?

Someday, when you grow up, you might understand what Chef's talking about. Doubt it, but you might...

To be fair to Cat (damn I need a drink now) he was referring to what LA was saying. I think.

I do understANd the difference. As chef pointed out, that's why I continually included LA's quote

I hope you didn't pay much for that English Major. That was a mess as far as actual communication. Reading it felt like wading though mud.
