Phlegm Alley Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Announcers are at a loss of words. I have never seen a game affected so much by the amount of PI calls. Whatever happened to "let them play"?
bartshan-83 Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 It's out of control. Even the Offensive PI by Mason was questionable. It's crazy how much control refs can have...
Got_Wood Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 The best games in any sport (football, basketball, baseball, hockey, etc.), are when the referees stay out of it unless they have to. This game is beyond ridiculous.
Phlegm Alley Posted December 8, 2009 Author Posted December 8, 2009 310 penalty yards. 2nd most penalty yards in NFL history.
reddogblitz Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 There were some bad calls sure. But it was obvious that the Packers' DBs strategy was to grab hold of the recievers arm so he couldn't reach for the ball. I even saw another one that wasn't called. Cheating plain and simple. They got caught. They should have. The offensive one was bogus though.
inkman Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 This game was the perfect reason to go to the college PI rule.
gobillsinytown Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 This game was the perfect reason to go to the college PI rule. Great point. If they go to 15 yards and a first down, you'll see a lot fewer of these.

Just Jack Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 Fans pay to watch the refs. Not many have their own fan page.

I think the opposite. If a QB throws a long pass into the end zone and the DB thinks he might catch, he'll just clean his clock. Why not, they only get 15 instead of it on the 1 or spot of the fowl. Leave the rule alone. It works. Those Packers got all those calls because they were out and out cheating. Obviously their plan was to sneakily grab the receivers arm so he couldn't catch the pass and since it was kindof hidden maybe refs won't see it. They deserved what they got. If they've been doing that all year maybe it's why they have the #1 defense?
