GM Candidate...

Tim Ruskell was fired as the General Manager for the Seattle Seahawks. He was a scout for 20 years and the Seahawks gig was his first as GM, and he took them to the Super Bowl.

His biggest mistake was letting Steve Hutchinson go in free agency...but he has drafted quite a few star players.

This year was the last of his contract...so he technically went out on his own terms, resigning instead of being fired.

I think it is definitly worth a look.

In his first season in Seattle, Ruskell made a few roster changes that helped the Seahawks, bringing in free agents and drafting college players that played pivotal roles in the Seahawks run to Super Bowl XL and further solidifying his reputation as a master personnel executive.

No. Ruskell drafted one Pro Bowler, Lofa Tatupu, in five years.

I would bet you ANY amount of money that Aaron Curry will be a Pro-Bowler?!

He also drafted players such as:

Falcons:

QB - Matt Schaub

WR - Michael Jenkins

CB - DeAngelo Hall

LB - Demorrio Williams

Seahawks:

C - Chris Spencer

LB - Leroy Hill

CB - Kelly Jennings

DE - Lawrence Jackson

DT - Brandon Mebane

LB - Will Herring

DE - Daryl Tapp

TE - John Carlson

OT - Max Unger

WR - Deon Butler

RB - Justin Forsett

FB - Owen Schmitt

He has lured such free agents to Seattle:

LB Julian Peterson

DE Patrick Kerney

FS - Deon Grant

We still have our "talent evaluators" on board unfortunately. Who knows if we will even be in the market for new ones until these clowns get shown the door.

And the longer Ralph waits to do that, IF that is indeed what he has planned for them, the longer he risks being second to interview anyone good, and this team can't afford not to be the first to make an offer.
