Alaska Darin Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 Ever read "The Boy Who Cried Wolf"? Why can't those who oppose the current administration do it on actual merit, especially considering so much exists? Morons.
DC Tom Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 Ever read "The Boy Who Cried Wolf"? Why can't those who oppose the current administration do it on actual merit, especially considering so much exists? Morons. Have you seen the billboard? Looks like an original JP-Era design. Not exactly the product of someone who can argue anything on its merits.
Alaska_Darin_Is_Gay Posted November 29, 2009 Author Posted November 29, 2009 Have you seen the billboard? Looks like an original JP-Era design. Not exactly the product of someone who can argue anything on its merits. He probably wasn't involved in the artwork, just the message.
Wacka Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 Freedom of speech. It's his billboard, does not contain swearing or nudity and it's not against zoning rules, so who cares.
ExiledInIllinois Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 Freedom of speech. It's his billboard, does not contain swearing or nudity and it's not against zoning rules, so who cares. I agree... Who cares.
Alaska Darin Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 He probably wasn't involved in the artwork, just the message. Which doesn't make it less stupid.
Alaska_Darin_Is_Gay Posted November 29, 2009 Author Posted November 29, 2009 Which doesn't make it less stupid. The reaction to it?
The Big Cat Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 Freedom of speech. It's his billboard, does not contain swearing or nudity and it's not against zoning rules, so who cares.
DC Tom Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 The reaction to it? Freedom of speech. People are just as entited to react to it as they are as he is entitled to display it. Bottom line: people have a constitutionally protected right to act like idiots.
The Big Cat Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 I'm suddenly reminded of a bunch of pissed off, paranoid white people who didn't like to be accused of clinging to their religion and guns...
DC Tom Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 I'm suddenly reminded of a bunch of pissed off, paranoid white people who didn't like to be accused of clinging to their religion and guns... You mean people like Lori?
The Big Cat Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 You mean people like Lori? If Lori's the type of person who fears she's "losing her country." Then yes.
DC Tom Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 If Lori's the type of person who fears she's "losing her country." Then yes. Actually, my point was that you're painting with an awfully broad and oddly-colored brush there, boy.
The Big Cat Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 Actually, my point was that you're painting with an awfully broad and oddly-colored brush there, boy. From where I sit, it's all about color. There's a reason the Disney Company doesn't actively promote Song of the South anymore. The billboard, which is "protected by free speech" falls under the same category. There's freedom, and there's taste. Like you said, we're all free to act like morons. Shoot, I relish in that freedom from time to time!
DC Tom Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 From where I sit, it's all about color. So you brought Pensyltucky into it because...?
Bishop Hedd Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 LMAO http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/21681024/detail.html Omigawd! I am so unhappy over this I could plotz!
The Big Cat Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 So you brought Pensyltucky into it because...? It's on the brain. I'm spending the next month in exile from Chicago. Back home in good ole Western PA!
