Just Jack Posted November 27, 2009 Share Posted November 27, 2009 Black Friday heats up Compactor fire interrupts Black Friday shopping at Wal-Mart Friday, November 27, 2009 10:34 AM EST Black Friday shopping took a surprise pause this morning after a compactor fire at Batavia’s Wal-Mart SuperCenter. The fire was very small and was extinguished quickly, said First Assistant Chief Randy McIntire of the Town of Batavia but it took about seven minutes to gain access due to the fire’s location. The SuperCenter was evacuated in the meantime, as per Wal-Mart policy.
