Buffalo_Stampede
in what regard? I want to know why Seifert was so great and then fell on his face in Carolina. Both guys are considered great offensive minds from Bill Walsh's system.
Boom Jam
Shanahan doesn't wear glasses?

Buffalo_Stampede
Nope, Seifert was Walsh's DC. Wow, I never knew that. Well, I guess thats the difference. All these years I thought he was an offensive coach.
Cotton Fitzsimmons
Wow, I never knew that. Well, I guess thats the difference. All these years I thought he was an offensive coach. And all of these years, you have been wrong. The truth hurts... But fear not! Even Ye Ole' has misfired a time or two!
MRW
I would also say that Seifert inherited a winning system already in place, with players extremely well-versed in running it. Shanahan, while he inherited a great QB in Elway, really had to retrain that team to get them to a championship. He had much more of a hand in molding the Broncos than Seifert did the 49ers. justnzane
simple answer, one inherited a team full of stars and kept that boat that sailing, the other inherited a **** team with a great horsefaced QB and built them up.
