Buffalo_Stampede Posted November 25, 2009 Author Posted November 25, 2009 in what regard? I want to know why Seifert was so great and then fell on his face in Carolina. Both guys are considered great offensive minds from Bill Walsh's system.

Buffalo_Stampede Posted November 25, 2009 Author Posted November 25, 2009 Nope, Seifert was Walsh's DC. Wow, I never knew that. Well, I guess thats the difference. All these years I thought he was an offensive coach.
Cotton Fitzsimmons Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 Wow, I never knew that. Well, I guess thats the difference. All these years I thought he was an offensive coach. And all of these years, you have been wrong. The truth hurts... But fear not! Even Ye Ole' has misfired a time or two!
MRW Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 I would also say that Seifert inherited a winning system already in place, with players extremely well-versed in running it. Shanahan, while he inherited a great QB in Elway, really had to retrain that team to get them to a championship. He had much more of a hand in molding the Broncos than Seifert did the 49ers.
justnzane Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 simple answer, one inherited a team full of stars and kept that boat that sailing, the other inherited a **** team with a great horsefaced QB and built them up.
