What's with all the LEAKS out of OBD?

EXACTLY

After a decade of failure and the TO signing last year it's understandable for the fans to be cynical about all the news. But the idea that the leaks are all a marketing ploy MAKES NO SENSE. Put yourself in Brandon's shoes - how would an epic fail on your part be good marketing?

what epic fail?

they fired Dick - which will be spun as the major move of the off-season.

any coach will be seen as better than Dick.

they set season ticket sales records after bringing back Dick last year, it will be a cakewalk to do it again without him as coach in 2010, no matter who his replacement is (unless it's Charlie Weis- then all bets are off)

It wouldn't be good marketing. In fact it would be a huge blow to marketing if they don't deliver with a big coach at this point.

I think the leaks are just that, loose lips and bad security within the organization. It could prove to be very embarassing for the team.

The Bills love to market whatever they can but rarely do they market something they don't have. We didn't hear anything about TO until it was a done deal. They haven't leaked big name coaches in the past. I just think a few weak links have exposed their hand.

Watch the reaction this board has, if we get Haslett. You can't tease this fanbase with Shanny and others. It's like waving a steak under the nose of a starving man and taking it away.

They made the choice to let it out or it was negligence. They own it now.

Stew Barber was spotted bowling at Transit lanes last week. Not trying to spread any rumors.

Mr. Ralph Wilson has painted himself into the proverbial corner, and his exit or escape route runs through the BIG HIRE! He is either "all in" with this latest assessment of his franchise, or the consequences are dire. The dictum that NO job was safe, really lite me up because they're signalling a total overhaul of the organization, and it's about time!! The fans he has are pretty sauve, and will know, by January, if he followed through on his latest endevour to right the ship in Buffalo. Tough sell? Maybe, however, the coaching hires last year, in large part, are the teams that are floundering right now and change there will be unlikely. Eventually, sheer mathematics could thrust a proven Head Coaching candidate our way. I, for one, am ALL for a proven talent evaluator followed by the new Head Coach. Enough of the cart before the horse thinking!

There will be more attractive options for guys like Shanahan, Cowher, and Holmgren should they decide to work again. They'll weigh their options and go where there's an opportunity to win more quickly because the Bills are a total rebuild.

RW did paint himself into a corner by making so many bad decisions, yet now he's heading the search and asking the questions? And I'm sure Polian and AJ Smith have told people not to go to Buffalo unless they want a meddlesome owner in their back pocket.

The HOF owner is the man who's put this team where it is now. He avoided making decisions for so long and not getting qualified people in that it has come to this: pure desperation.
