dib Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 I've always wanted to try this. Anyone ever have one? Dont tell me it tastes like turkey/duck/chicken. You're funnier than that
ajzepp Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 I've always felt that there's just something kinda unsettling about taking three birds and shoving them all together.
ieatcrayonz Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 I've always felt that there's just something kinda unsettling about taking three birds and shoving them all together. With the Bills losing every week, maybe you should dedicate your web show this week to Thanksgiving recipes. You could try turduckin on the show for the first time.
stuckincincy Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 I've always felt that there's just something kinda unsettling about taking three birds and shoving them all together. I feel the same about 3-meat pizzas.
RayFinkle Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Any food which is one letter away from a whole new meaning, turd-duckin, I generally stay away from.
Bullpen Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 I've always wanted to try this. Anyone ever have one? Dont tell me it tastes like turkey/duck/chicken. You're funnier than that I ordered one from Cabela's a couple years ago. I was throughly underwhelmed. Save the money and effort if you ask me.
stuckincincy Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 I ordered one from Cabela's a couple years ago. I was throughly underwhelmed. Save the money and effort if you ask me. Agreed - novelty value, though.
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 I've always wanted to try this. Anyone ever have one? Dont tell me it tastes like turkey/duck/chicken. You're funnier than that Me too. Always wanted to try it. I've seen it made a bunch of times on various Food Network shows.
Phlegm Alley Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Had it and enjoyed it. I actually just got back from Reading Terminal here in Philly to pick one up. It is good, but we're also frying up a turkey as well.
Bullpen Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Dib, sent you a PM. Cincy, the worst part is price of that stupid thing. Of course Cabela's is very proud of their stuff and it's priced accordingly. JR, I looked at Paul Prudomme's recipe for turducken... After reviewing the recipe, I heard nothing but cash registers ringing and what would be my subsequent cussing and ranting after spending 15 hours trying to make the damn thing and said to hell with it.
stuckincincy Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Cincy, the worst part is price of that stupid thing. Yep. I think a TurCowPig thing would be much more appealing.
Beerball Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Yep. I think a TurCowPig thing would be much more appealing. You simply cannot fit a cow inside a turkey inside a pig. Can't be done. or maybe it's a pig inside a cow inside a turkey or is it a cow inside a pig inside a turkey or....you sonsabitches got me all confused again!
Cynical Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 The wife made one year a few years back. It was actually pretty good. Would we do it again? Nope. It was a PITA to prepare You better have a large party to feed, or there will be some serious leftovers Since then, we tried a couple of mail order / pre made ones, and were not impressed at all.
stuckincincy Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 You simply cannot fit a cow inside a turkey inside a pig. Can't be done. Yes it can. I own knives.
Beerball Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Huh? Thought it would be more to your liking.
Bullpen Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Thought it would be more to your liking. I wish there was an emoticon for "shaking one's head in pity for the previous poster." You are really off your game today, Mr. Bawl.
Chef Jim Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Thought it would be more to your liking. And you'd be right. Classic French cooking and history are two interests of mine. However turducken sounds like it would be right out of Careme.
