bills_red Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 Bills owner Ralph Wilson downplayed a report that the team is interested in meeting with former Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan. "I don't know anything about him," Wilson said, stopping short of an outright denial. http://www.rotoworld.com/ ------------------------------------ What!?!?!?!

Is Ralph expected to negotiate in public? PTR
Brandon Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 That's roughly the equivalent of 'no comment'. People are making WAY too big of a deal of that statement.
DrDawkinstein Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 That's roughly the equivalent of 'no comment'. People are making WAY too big of a deal of that statement. ^^^^^ indeed
kota Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 Maybe Ralph should put up a Billboard that says "I want Mike Shanahan as my head coach"
BLZFAN4LIFE Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 It's nothing. Is Ralph expected to negotiate in public? PTR I don't know, I found that answer to be pretty odd. At face value, " I don't know anything about (Mike Shanahan) him" is a pretty bizarre reply. I suppose you are an expert at interpreting what Ralph Wilson means though. If your assessment of the situation is correct, isn't it still odd that Ralph would say that he doesn't know anything about a man he's negotiating with?
BLZFAN4LIFE Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 That's roughly the equivalent of 'no comment'. People are making WAY too big of a deal of that statement. Then why not just say... " I will not comment on candidates at this time"? Much easier, no?
Brandon Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 Then why not just say... " I will not comment on candidates at this time"? Much easier, no? Yes, but given this was not a prepared statement, I can forgive the fact that it wasn't phrased particularly well.
Alaska Darin Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 Then why not just say... " I will not comment on candidates at this time"? Much easier, no? Ralph isn't the best at choosing his words. Sincerely, Anyone who has listened to him speak extemporaneously in the last 20 years
BLZFAN4LIFE Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 Ralph isn't the best at choosing his words. Sincerely, Anyone who has listened to him speak extemporaneously in the last 20 years Do you mean like this... "Anybody that says I'm cheap is looking down the wrong side of the street," Wilson said.
Alaska Darin Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 Do you mean like this... "Anybody that says I'm cheap is looking down the wrong side of the street," Wilson said. I prefer him being "appalled by the disabled guy" at the Canton parade.
Chalkie Gerzowski Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 Do you mean like this... "Anybody that says I'm cheap is looking down the wrong side of the street," Wilson said. or I WAS APPALLED!!!!! I saw people with oxygen tanks!!!!! God Bless America!!!

Tortured Soul Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 Do you mean like this... "Anybody that says I'm cheap is looking down the wrong side of the street," Wilson said. Did he misspeak on that one? I kinda like that phrase - doesn't make sense, but still gets the point across. Very Grampa Simpson-y
stevestojan Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 He has chiclets for front teeth. That's a start Ralph.
Malazan Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 I think these quotes are being mis-represented on here with obvious intent. Yes, we're all annoyed by the team's wallowing, but taking the man's words and twisting them doesn't accomplish anything. Let's wait and see what happens.
dave mcbride Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 Ralph isn't the best at choosing his words. Sincerely, Anyone who has listened to him speak extemporaneously in the last 20 years What he said.
GG Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 If it was Tuesday, the right words would have come out.
RayFinkle Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 I'm am going to go out on a limb here and predict that bills_red is Jerry Sullivans #1 fan.
Chef Jim Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 I prefer him being "appalled by the disabled guy" at the Canton parade. Oh thanks for reminding me of that gem. Where the hell was he going with that?
