ExiledInIllinois
In the 1940s, 1950s...hell even the 60s and 70s were no treat. Nice post... I agree exactly. Three things: Denora, PA 1948 One of the main reasons everything has moved overseas: NIMBY. We should have started to conserve years ago, cut back on consumer growth... Yet, that wasn't chic especially around even as late as 1980. Do you think conservation/anti-consumerism sells politically and garners votes. Eff no! NIMBY. As long as we can send a few company execs over to those polluted stinking places... All is good, Americans get their sh*t and nobody sees what is going on. Much easier to blame cited like BFLO, taxes, and the unions for job loss to other countries. Oh ya, and strict enviro regs too. Yet, do you blame the strict enviro regs after what happend in 1948 Denora?
