Tortured Soul Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 I don't have access, so I can't read anything, but if you want to take a look, go here: http://sports-ak.espn.go.com/nfl/index
nucci Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 You are going to read about a number of coaches. All speculation with nothing to back it up.
Corp000085 Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 According to some mouthpiece on NFLN, Gregg Williams is also a top choice. Hot coordiator who knows the system in buffalo. He failed to mention a few things though: Sucked even worse than DJ as the bills head coach, was already fired once by Ralph Wilson.
Alaska Darin Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Sucked even worse than DJ as the bills head coach, was already fired once by Ralph Wilson. Not according to record.
DC Tom Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 I heard they're looking at bringing Jim Ringo back.
GG Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 I heard they're looking at bringing Jim Ringo back. Now that would be a tough feat.
Nervous Guy Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Now that would be a tough feat. you obviously never saw Weekend at Bernies.
Beerball Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 With the news that Dick Jauron has been canned, the obvious question involves replacing him. Experts have been discussing for weeks now how viable the notion is that an owner who was sure to fire his coach might just do it sooner rather than later. That would be so the organization would have a better shot at landing one of the big names floating around. Those include Bill Cowher, Mike Holmgren and Mike Shanahan. (We'll give Jon Gruden a day off since he just re-inked for broadcasting duty.) That said, nobody has ever associated the Bills with the "big-name coach" idea. This is, after all, a franchise that hired Dick Jauron to get them back to respectability. So the question looms: Are Marv Levy and Ralph Wilson ready to make a bold move? The early line? Well, SI's Peter King does note that Gruden's commitment to the booth leaves Mike Shanahan in prime position. "Shanahan," he writes, "is atop the heap of the certain returnees to the coaching sideline in January." Nothing new here, move along...unless you want to comment on the fact that the writer thinks that Marv is still involved in the decision making process.
GG Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 you obviously never saw Weekend at Bernies. It would be more like the sequel, if you believe what some people say about the owner.
Fan in Chicago Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 "So the question looms: Are Marv Levy and Ralph Wilson ready to make a bold move?" Levy ?
Beerball Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 "So the question looms: Are Marv Levy and Ralph Wilson ready to make a bold move?" Levy ? Inner circle stuff. All very hush hush.
bills_fan_in_raleigh Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Lets first get a damn GM in here ASAP so they can start evaluating talent
Fan in Chicago Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Inner circle stuff. All very hush hush. Great ! Considering what Levy did with his choice of HC and draft picks*, his advice will only serve to drive this franchise even more into the ground. * I don't subscribe to the theory that he did not have much to do in the draft
Philly McButterpants Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 you obviously never saw Weekend at Bernies. Didn't we just have that guy?
OnTheRocks Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 you obviously never saw Weekend at Bernies. and obviously wasn't paying attention to the guy on the sidelines they propted up for the past 3 1/2 years.
Bleed Bills Blue Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 "So the question looms: Are Marv Levy and Ralph Wilson ready to make a bold move?" Levy ?
dave mcbride Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 It would be more like the sequel, if you believe what some people say about the owner.
garbag3man Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 you obviously never saw Weekend at Bernies. Didn't we just get done with a coach like that? ...or was he really alive?
tjprime Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Not according to record. Gregg Williams 3 seasons w/ Buffalo - 3-13, 8-8, 6-10 for a total of 17-31= win % of .354 Mike Mularkey 2 seasons w/ Buffalo - 9-7, 5-11 for a total of 14-18= win % of .438 Dick Jauron 3 1/2 seasons w/ Buffalo - 7-9, 7-9, 7-9, 3-6 for a total of 24-33= win % 0f .421 So Mularkey was best, than Jauron, last is Williams. Conclusion: All three stink.
PromoTheRobot Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Any talk of coaches is just talk until we hire a new GM/Ops guy. We need to clean house and we won't get a good one if they can't make their own hires. PTR
