fairfaxbill Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 The timing of Jauron's firing is curious. If he wasn't going to be fired before the bye week, why do it now before a road game? One theory I'm thinking about is Ralph Wilson wants desperately for Trent Edwards to be his QB this year and next year. Jauron's contemplation of inserting Fitzpatrick as a starter blows that strategy. I want the Bills to take a young QB at the top of the draft, but I'm realizing there is no way that happens. Ralph won't pay $60 million for a Rookie QB. Ralph will wait for a Rookie salary cap in 2011 or 2012. Would not be surprised if Ralph completely trades out of the top of the draft this year after getting burned by Maybin's $25 million deal. I'm guessing Edwards starts the rest of the season now that Jauron is gone. We will be trading that top 10 draft pick as well.
Mike in Syracuse Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 If Ralph is finally conceding that we need legitimate football people in here then they will decide who the next QB of this team will be. It's unlikely that Edwards will get much interest from other teams so the rest of this season is a big tryout for him.

Malazan Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 This is a pretty ridiculous theory...even for Buffalo fans..
Dr. Fong Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 they passed on Rothlesberger when they coulda had him, qb crop doesnt look so good right now He was drafted BEFORE the Bills selected in that draft.

Maybin a bust? Can't say that yet. Maybe he does play some OLB now DJ bit the dust.
LynchMob23 Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 If we set up a competent line and give him a solid system, I'd like to see what Edwards has. Otherwise we're just going to spin wheels.

nucci Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 He was drafted BEFORE the Bills selected in that draft. Don't let facts get in the way.
BuffaloBill Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Why is the base assumption that ralph will not pay and this is the root of all evil. Look at Snyder throwing money around does not equal good team either.
cåblelady Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 If we set up a competent line and give him a solid system, I'd like to see what Edwards has. I wouldn't.
LynchMob23 Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 I wouldn't. Fair enough, agree to disagree. But look at a guy who looked like he shouldn't even be in the NFL a few years ago torching people all over the place in Drew Brees. He was so bad that he and Flutie alternated weeks until Rivers got there and held out. THEN he started to show what he was possible of now. Though the wailing and gnashing of teeth if that did happen with Edwards on another team would be hilarious to observe here...
Malazan Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Good or bad, Edwards is done in Buffalo. There's just no salvaging his career here.

Kelso_Helmet Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 my theory is that he totally sucked at his job
Nick the Greek Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 I would think the embarrassing loss to Tenn influenced his decision.. hell, that old hermit bud adams flipping him off got him going, eh?
Conch Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 He was drafted BEFORE the Bills selected in that draft. True, actually the bills tried to trade up to get him. Big Ben would have been a big bust with the coaching here however.
