Quester74 Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 Here's a scary thought.. Wade Phillips and/or Norv Turner might be looking for a job in the offseason.
plenzmd1 Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 No love for Charlie Weiss? Wouldn't mind seeing Charlie at the very least our OC, and I think the guy can be a decent Head Coach in the pros playing on an equal playing field.
Armchair GM Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 i dont want any coordinators only people who have been head coaches Bill Cowher Jon gruden holmgren Marty Schottenheimer Mike Shanahan Bob Stoops mike leach jim harbaugh those are the only guys i could picture winning a SB The Dark Horse....Charlie Weiss
High Mark Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 i dont want any coordinators only people who have been head coaches Bill Cowher Jon gruden holmgren Marty Schottenheimer Mike Shanahan Bob Stoops mike leach jim harbaugh those are the only guys i could picture winning a SB Who has done more with less in a shorter amount of time. His brother is also coaching in the NFL which will help no doubt. Also has his fathers brain to pick. Has done a great job developing QBs too... If its not Jim Harbaugh, the only other college coach I would like is Les Miles - LSU, he is the anti-juaron - think Rex Ryan but better. He works in a pro system too. Stoops and Leach no thanks. The HOF coaches you named are acceptable too, but I would like to go with Harbaugh, and bring in some former NFL HCs to be OC/DC.
cale Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 The best coach in the world won't mean S*&T if they don't get a good personnel guy and improve their scouting. Maybe Buddy Nix will now be more integral in the organization.
StamerforPrez Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 Marv Levy Or how bout a certain Coach Ditka?
BillsGuyInMalta Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 Jack Del Rio. Also, another name that people might want to pay attention to is Jim Haslett. Obviously not my choice, but that's an ultimate Buffalo move right there.
sweet baboo Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 No love for Charlie Weiss? Wouldn't mind seeing Charlie at the very least our OC, and I think the guy can be a decent Head Coach in the pros playing on an equal playing field. hell no...overall not impressed with him at ND
Clippers of Nfl Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 How about Tony Dungy? tony dungy = vick will def come here
Lofton80 Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 I could see Capers or Grimm fitting the mold. Inexpensive, still available after the big names hook up with Snyder and Jones.
Kettle Creek Football Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 **** man, you might have to apologize to Jim Caldwell or Sean Payton after one of them wins this year... I could care less who the next coach is - I want a GM (seperate from the coach). Get rid of Guy and Modrak, too!
Clippers of Nfl Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 chucky is my first choice cower #2 we can dream right?
StamerforPrez Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 tony dungy = vick will def come here No way Dungy would give up coaching a great organization like the colts, take one year off, and make his comeback with a team with one of the worst situations in the nfl.
1billsfan Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 I don't see Ralph paying up the money for a Cowher or Dungy big name type especially since he'll be on the hook for the remainder of Jauron's contract. Nor do I see any big name type taking the Buffalo job with the current dire situation at QB. The only big name guy I see that would possibly come here at a bargain price is Marty Schottenhiemer. So working within a realist set of circumstances, I see the Bills finding a real GM (Casserly? Wolf?) and ending up with a rookie head coach like one of these guys... Leslie Frazier - Vikings (Dungy student) Russ Grimm - Cardinals (Cowher student) Mike Zimmer - Bengals (Parcells student) What Ralph should do is get Ernie Accorsi in here as a consultant for this overhaul process.
StamerforPrez Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 I think we are going to have to settle for an OC/DC. Why would any proven coach want to come to Buffalo and work for a 90 year old owner that's had a history of not giving his coaches what they need. Unless..... the coach who does come in has complete control over personnel decisions
Buffalonian-at-Heart Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 Brian Billick I agree. I wouldn't mind Urban Meyer.
Pozitive51 Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 HC - Marty Shottenheimer DC - Jim Haslett OC - Brian Shotteneimer GM of Football Operations - Marty Shottenheimer
Fewell733 Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 I don't trust college coaches generally. Especially ones that owe their success to strategies that have historically only worked in the college game. I'd like to see a coach that has actually enjoyed a winning career record as a head coach in the NFL.
