1. I almost expected C. Johnson to have more yards and touchdowns today. Scott at LB? Spencer Johnson starting at DT? A rotation at DT that includes McCargo? Which leads to the next point...

2. Cap to cash has killed our depth. I agree with the many other posters that at least 1/3 of our roster could be cut/waived/replaced without making much of a difference.

3. What is with Bell and all of the illegal procedure calls? He has not played well, nothwithstanding that some think he potential. Bills need to acquire two new tackles for next season. A team cannot win with Bell/Scott/Meredith/Chambers at tackle.

4. WR will be a problem next year, unless Stevie Johnson is the real deal. I doubt that TO is back in Buffalo, same with Parrish, Reed is a free agent, and Hardy is a complete unknown.

5. Linebacker and defensive tackle are huge needs next year as well.

6. Why is it looking like Maybin, McKelvin, Ellis, Hardy, Lynch, McCargo and Whitner are all busts to some degree? I think that Maybin is the biggest bust of all, potentially. He has done nothing when he has played. This does not represent good drafting for a team that needs to draft well in order to be competitive (because of cash to cap).

7. Byrd has been a revelation. How does Whitner fit into this team? Will he be the best option at strong safety?

8. I like Edwards, but he is not the guy. I guess it will be QB in the first round next year, which is unfortunate for so many reasons, including all of the needs at other positions (i.e., tackle and linebacker).

Ellis and McCargo are gone soon. Neither play, unless the DL is ravaged by injuries. McKelvin, Hardy, and Maybin need some more time, but haven't been stellar in their short careers.

Modrak has not done well, and DJ's reliance on drafting small players has created the massive issues along the OL and DL. Their strategy from 06-08 was made by DJ, who didn't draft all that well when he had personnel control in Chicago.

Good points. The one that hurts the most is your last point. We just aren't in a position where we can burn a draft pick on a QB in the first round, but yet it has to be a serious consideration. At the same time it's tough to make a decision on Trent because our pass protection is subpar and so is our coaching at this point.

He seems accurate, athletic and intelligent enough to be an average NFL QB so you hate to give up on a guy until you see him play with more than 2 seconds to pass the ball before he gets blasted. Personally I think you have to go with a left tackle with your first pick unless someone falls to us that we can't pass up. Bell just seems too mistake and injury prone at this point. I would draft LB second. Then D line.

I think Whitner is still our best option for SS. Move Maybin to LB, let him play in space because he can't shed OL blocks right now. I think he will work out OK for us. The guy was a project and we knew it. He's fast as hell, long arms. I think with the right coordinator they will find a way to get some production out of the kid.

If I were head coach right now i would send Owens home. I need the remaining games to evaluate/build my future receiving corps and he's not part of it obviously. His salary is guaranteed so either way he's getting paid which means money doesn't matter cause it's spent already. I'd involve Stevie Johnson and Hardy and get them real game experience to see what I have (and what I don't have). Let's face it, TO isn't winning us any games this year and there might not be much dropoff if any from the WR's.

How truly sad it is to read these same pathetic posts over and over again. Grasping at straws looking for a cure to a terminally ill team. What a !@#$ing joke this franchise is. Doesn't anyone get it? This team never was and never will be good. The owner is a loser and do nothing more than put a loser on the field because thats all he's capable of. If this team had to survive in the real business world instead of the socialistic monopoly it operates in, it would have died off years ago. I wish the NFL was like euro soccer. Sucky teams get regulated to the b and c leagues until they can compete on a elite level and play with the big boys. Bills would be perennial c listers. As for me, I used to live and die with the Bills. For 35 years. Now, my love and passion for them is gradually turning to resentment. Partially because I feel betrayed. I feel like a douche that has been sucked into cheering for a team that will never be. I've been duped for 30 years. Today, I find myself cheering for my fantasy players more than I cheer for the Bills. Even when they are playing against the Bills. But I come by it honestly. Ive done my time with this team. I know not as much as most of you that have had season tix for 20 years or more but I loved them no less. Now there is nothing left to love because the organization gives nothing back. It only takes. !@#$ the Bills. They don't deserve any of the attention and time you guys give them. Everyone at this site are top notch loyal, devoted fans. You all deserve better.

Sorry. Kind of a drunken post. I still feel this way this morning but probably would not have posted it
