The Poojer Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 this show has to be staged....i have seen a couple episodes tonight and it just looks completely fake.....an accountants son taking down the repo guy, a repo'd hearse with a manequin in the casket...a leather guy getting all upset about his vespa being repo'd...the reactions are way to over the top to be real....anyone know if they are staged?????
The Poojer Posted November 11, 2009 Author Posted November 11, 2009 n/m....just read the wiki entry, not that wiki is the gospel truth Operation Repo is an American television program where a real repossession team from the San Fernando Valley in California are filmed live of the repossession of vehicles for finance companies.[1]. Although as a channel, truTV is described as presenting "real-life stories told from an exciting and dramatic first-person perspective"[2], Operation Repo consists of scripted re-enactments where the team is often confronted by actors portraying debtors and police officers in the repossessions. Some of the actions shown violate the Collateral Recovery Act of the State of California and are only for dramatic purposes. Repossession agents are prohibited from breaching the peace[3] (ie: fighting and wrestling with debtors). However, some of the actors on the team were repossession agents in real life.[4] this show has to be staged....i have seen a couple episodes tonight and it just looks completely fake.....an accountants son taking down the repo guy, a repo'd hearse with a manequin in the casket...a leather guy getting all upset about his vespa being repo'd...the reactions are way to over the top to be real....anyone know if they are staged?????
Just Jack Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 I've watched it, I just thought the repo team are a bunch of idiots themselves. I remember one episode they had the persons car all hooked up, found it at a strip mall, then they decided to see if they could find the owner to get the keys. Duh, if I had the car all hooked up, I'm getting the F out of there. Some other channel, I think it was Discovery, had a special about repo people, it was all real. This isn't the show I saw, but it looks better than A&E's version. EDIT: Found the title of the show I saw, but not if it'll be airing again... Repo Men: Stealing for a Living
