Chef Jim Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Twenty years ago. The night that changed the world.
IDBillzFan Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 The importance of the day was underscored when Hillary Clinton showed up to speak, complete with the complete first season set of Obama The President on VHS, talking about how important...he is. But that's probably why you're surprised no one posted it yet. Because even the left is embarrassed by the simple fact that Obama has time to go pitch the Chicago Olympics, time to meet with the SEIU president 22 times, and probably time to make another incredible speech for his Nobel Peach Price, but only twenty minutes for McCrystal and a videotape for the fall of the Berlin Wall. But I hear people like us. So that's something. Plus, he already made a big speech in Germany, so we're good.
Dante Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 I bet you the East Berliners were happy. The west side? Not so much
The Big Cat Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 I thought for sure you were going here: 34 years ago today! Where were you? More importantly, where was Gordon Lightfoot?
DrFishfinder Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 I thought for sure you were going here: 34 years ago today! Where were you? More importantly, where was Gordon Lightfoot? And what has Gordo done since that song? Neat song, though.
The Big Cat Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 And what has Gordo done since that song? Neat song, though. Who cares? All of humanity benefited from the enchanting ballad.
IDBillzFan Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 And what has Gordo done since that song? Neat song, though. Well, it's not "Sundown," but it's okay.
/dev/null Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 I thought for sure you were going here: 34 years ago today! In all seriousness, Nov 9th is also the anniversary of another important date in German history which was pointed out to me by a friend of mine who celebrates Hanukkah: Kristallnacht
