LeviF Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 Apparently this guy was a fairly well-decorated officer. http://www.cnn.com/2009/CRIME/11/06/fort.h...pect/index.html "He had been awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the Army Service Ribbon, but was never deployed outside the United States."

Not really. Those are all pretty standard for anyone serving over the past decade.

Chalkie Gerzowski Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 Apparently this guy was a fairly well-decorated officer. http://www.cnn.com/2009/CRIME/11/06/fort.h...pect/index.html "He had been awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the Army Service Ribbon, but was never deployed outside the United States." will he get the Global Warming Creating Domestic Terrorism Medal? I heard Saul Alinsky handed those out like jolly ranchers on Halloween.
Just Jack Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 ....parades, places of work, busy city streets, concerts, etc. It's only a matter of time. Remember this TV Movie? Under Siege The scene that sticks in my mind is the terrorists walking through the mall, tossing grenades in the stores as they go by.
Beerball Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 How long before people start talking about possible ties to Al-Queda U.S. intelligence agencies were aware months ago that Army Major Nidal Hasan was attempting to make contact with people associated with al Qaeda

LeviF Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 almost everyone gets those medals... Thanks, it's been said. It's odd how medals used to actually mean something and now virtually everyone who has served gets them. I had no clue seeing as how I'm not affiliated with the military in any way. I guess it's one of those "morale boosting" bull **** tactics.
Alaska Darin Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 Thanks, it's been said. It's odd how medals used to actually mean something and now virtually everyone who has served gets them. I had no clue seeing as how I'm not affiliated with the military in any way. I guess it's one of those "morale boosting" bull **** tactics. Those are "given" medals, not "earned" medals - pretty much everyone who shows up for work gets them. Makes the fruit cocktail look a little more impressive to the non-initiated but it's a running joke to anyone who has actually done something in the armed forces.
