San-O Posted November 16, 2004 Posted November 16, 2004 Johnson played in the playoffs, he didn't get the team there. Huge difference. 120584 And neither has Bleedslow.
Alaska Darin Posted November 16, 2004 Posted November 16, 2004 The Darrell Lamonica trade has been eclipsed at last by the fleecing of "genius GM" Tom Donahoe by the New England Patriots. Not only did we give up a #1 pick, we guarenteed a division rival 2 W's a year. We gave up a #1 pick for a QB that turns into a quivering bowl of jelly every time he faces his old team. Glad that finally everyone (except for Tom Donahoe, Mike Mullarkey, Fezmid, Campy, and NJSue) realize this was a horrible mistake. PTR 120220 The sky is falling, the sky is falling. Look up Hershel Walker sometime. Sheesh.

Oneida Lake Posted November 16, 2004 Posted November 16, 2004 Sorry Promo, but the Bledsoe trade doesn't compare to the Rob Johnson trade. 120823 3-13 to 8-8 sellouts 10 passing records bye bye peerless and your 1100 yards Moulds and Henry out and then slowed down hello same old 5 fat slow guys backed up by 5 fat slow guys new system new rookie coach the mob mentality in here is actually quite funny who can outdo the other guy on Bledsoe bashing... let the JV Loserman era begin...
PromoTheRobot Posted November 16, 2004 Author Posted November 16, 2004 sorry if I missed it, but who did NE get for that #1 pick? 120794 I think they drafted Ty Warren with that pick. How would you like to have him? PTR

The Johnson trade a very distant second. 120989 Well we didn't trade 2 #1s for Ricky Williams, a #2 for AJ Feely, a #2 for David Boston, trade Ogulinay for a #2 then trade that #2 for Marty Booker and at the same time have 5 new starters on our OL, ALL IN ONE YEAR! If I am thankful for nothing else this season I will completely enjoy the fish woes!
Guest abernste Posted November 17, 2004 Posted November 17, 2004 NE traded to pick to Chicago, who proceeded to draft Michael Haynes??? sorry if I missed it, but who did NE get for that #1 pick? 120794

It was so forgettable, it's been forgotten!
Yoho Posted November 17, 2004 Posted November 17, 2004 Let me explain a reallllly bad trade. The Bills traded their young 2nd string quarterback who every time he got a chance was very successful (Lamonica) and a good veteran possession split end (that is what they were called at the time- Bill Miller) for a veteran over-the-hill quarterback (Flores) and a head case split end (Art Powell). For the next few years, while Flores and Powell were already gone from the Bills, Lamonica and Miller were connecting for touchdowns in the early Super Bowls. If you think Ice is off the wall with his "assclown" remarks, just picture that horror show. So before you go calling the Bledsoe trade the worst in history, please understand it is not even close. He actually contributed a few games and we did not give up a Super Bowl quarterback in return. I understand some of you are young, but the Bills history did not begin in 1986, so if you are going to make claims like this there are some of us who remember the really bad old rotten days. Donohue is Albert Einstein compare to Stew Barber and Harvey Johnson.
Ray Posted November 17, 2004 Posted November 17, 2004 The Rob Jonson deal was much worse. Bledsoe's first season here he went to the Pro Bowl. At the time it was a great deal! He has stunk up the place the last season and a half but hindsight is always 20/20! His signing did renew interest in the team and get people excited which was also a great thing for the franchise.
BB2004 Posted November 17, 2004 Posted November 17, 2004 3-13 to 8-8sellouts 10 passing records bye bye peerless and your 1100 yards Moulds and Henry out and then slowed down hello same old 5 fat slow guys backed up by 5 fat slow guys new system new rookie coach the mob mentality in here is actually quite funny who can outdo the other guy on Bledsoe bashing... let the JV Loserman era begin... 120843 Well you can tell yourself that this was the worst trade in history, but from the standpoint of the organization we were going to have to stick with Rob Johnson over Bledsoe. It might look good now, but realistically people would still be upset. By the way, does Rob Johnson even play anymore?
Rico Posted November 17, 2004 Posted November 17, 2004 Yep, nothing touches the Lamonica trade in Bills history... we gve away a borderline superstar for basically nothing. All Drew cost us was a #1 pick. The Drew trade was horrible, but would be old news by now if TD had cut his losses earlier this year & not redone his contract. That may be the worst executive decision in Bills history... certainly the worst in the past 20 years.

You think maybe we would have been able to keep a guy like Big Ted, and even TT for an extra year or two? Oh well...

ROCCEO Posted November 17, 2004 Posted November 17, 2004 NE traded to pick to Chicago, who proceeded to draft Michael Haynes??? 121094 Incorrect, Warren was drafted @ # 13 by the Pats, Haynes was picked at 14 by the Bears who traded out of the 4th spot in order to aqcuire Haynes and later on at #22 or 23, Rex Grossman(jets traded lavernious coles to redskins fo ra #1 and then traded up to pick dewayne robertson).
