taterhill Posted November 16, 2004 Posted November 16, 2004 The Jets were up 14-0, I think, and threatening to blow it open....Why do these coaches try to re-invent the wheel with these moronic play calls????
EZC-Boston Posted November 16, 2004 Posted November 16, 2004 To give people on message boards something to complain about...
BuffOrange Posted November 16, 2004 Posted November 16, 2004 Yes, that was an incredibly dumb call. Dumber than the Henry pass in Miami last year, because the Bills offense hadn't shown anything in that game. The Jets were ahead 14-0 and running the ball well. Also, Baltimore has a terrible offense so Boeller wasn't going to beat them if they fell behind 17-0.
Thailog80 Posted November 16, 2004 Posted November 16, 2004 Horrible call but yet worse was why did LaMont (you big dummy) Jordan even throw it? There wasn't a Jet receiver anywhere near the ball.
Guffalo Posted November 16, 2004 Posted November 16, 2004 Interesting how the OC has yet to be available for interviews..Hern Edwards takes the heat for him.
Guest Guest_eyedog_* Posted November 16, 2004 Posted November 16, 2004 ..and that stupid call changed the momentum and ended up costing them the game and possibly the play-offs.
IDBillzFan Posted November 16, 2004 Posted November 16, 2004 Horrible call but yet worse was why did LaMont (you big dummy) Jordan even throw it? There wasn't a Jet receiver anywhere near the ball. 120244[/snapback] Herm Edwards was asking the same question, sorta, at halftime. The play was, basically, throw if the guy is open or run like a muddafugga. Looks like he threw it away...just not far enough. Between that play and poor clock management on behalf of Edwards/Quincy Carter, they really blew the game. Which at least emphasizes one point: it's one thing to suck when you already suck. It's another thing to suck when you start out 5-0.
Chalkie Gerzowski Posted November 16, 2004 Posted November 16, 2004 The Jets just may have killed their season. At worst, it would have been 17-0 with momentum into halftime. Gilbride must be a consultant for the Jets. Just asinine.
