Taiyo Yuden and Ritek Ridata were generally considered the best a year or two ago. I would assume that hasn't changed.

Meritline is the only place I buy media from as well -- great place to shop, been buying from them for at least 7-8 years.

 

That said, nowadays I'm not sure that it matters as much as it did 8 years ago...

I too have a Sony burner, and am happy with the copies that you can make with Sony. However, be aware, if you use Sony, and make copies for others, they may have playback issues... if you just shop the mainstream outlets, like me, Office Depot carries the Verbatim line of products...they seem to work on any player. The playback issue seems particularly relevant when it comes to using dual layer discs (DVD-DL/R)...for those Verbatim is the way to go!
