JoeFerguson Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 I driving from Milwaukee to Buffalo for Thanksgiving and thinking about going through Canada just to change it up. We are going to bring a dog. According to the US customs website it says you need a up-to-date proof of rabies vaccination for the dog. This sounds simple enough, but I'm just wondering if anyone has done this recently and is it worth the hassle? We have passports.
Just Jack Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 Did it about a year ago at Niagara Falls. No problem, we carried written copies of the dog license and rabies proof for the customs agent when going across, along with our passports.

Have you ever taken the ferry from MIL to Muskegon, MI? My wife and children did it this summer (Muskegon to MIL) and they loved it! Sorry can't help you with the rest...
HereComesTheReignAgain Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 Just tell the border cop that it is a military dog and it's deserting. They will treat your dog like a hero.
