John Gianelli Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Living in the Philly area, saw this article this morning: http://www.philly.com/inquirer/sports/2009...amily_time.html It says he got mixed reactions from the three teams that saw him work out. "I got no feedback at all from Buffalo," he said. "You know it's going to come," he said of another chance to play. "I have the ability to still play and I put all this work in, so I want to do it. There's no sense in going through what I went through in the last eight months and just quit."
Got_Wood Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Not surprising. Jauron's not exactly known for his communication skills.
Peter Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Why would we give any feedback given that our line has performed so well this year. Sarcasm off.
BillsWatch Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Not surprising. Jauron's not exactly known for his communication skills. Don't apply to be his speech writer; you could not make any improvement.
Got_Wood Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 Don't apply to be his speech writer; you could not make any improvement. Thanks for the kind words.
bills_red Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 who cares I'd rather go young then get him. Are we a + .500 team with him? No, so put in the young guys in and let them get playing time.
cowtippur Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 I don't know how it works...if there is no interest, would there be any feedback? Does a team tell someone if there is no interest? Seems like the no feedback should have told him something. Runyan was good, no doubt, but there is a reason he is unemployed.
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 Actually from what I've read I think the opposite is true. He tells the media nothing, but is up front with the players. That's why supposedly one of the reasons they like him so much. Having said that, I don't think the Bill's need to tel lRunyon anything in this situation. Not surprising. Jauron's not exactly known for his communication skills.
/dev/null Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 Not surprising. Jauron's not exactly known for his communication skills. That's partially Runyon's fault. He should have know how to ask the question... Beep once for Yes and twice for No...

ganesh Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 Not surprising. Jauron's not exactly known for his communication skills. You mean he has a protocol .....to not speak.

benderbender Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 Whats the point of blocking for a QB that is only going to check down? Take the snap, wait two seconds then pass to RB. You could do that with a rookie OL...wait...I just figured out Jauron's strategy.

Offside Number 76 Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 who cares I'd rather go young then get him. Are we a + .500 team with him? No, so put in the young guys in and let them get playing time. As usual, half of the responses concentrate on attacking other people, and ignore the good points. Above is the good point. You're absolutely right.
dave mcbride Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 I think I'm missing something. Do any of the other 31 teams want him?
sullim4 Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 That's partially Runyon's fault. He should have know how to ask the question... Beep once for Yes and twice for No... Admiral Pike?
John Gianelli Posted October 31, 2009 Author Posted October 31, 2009 True that we want to give the young guys playing time. Since we're the least experienced line in the NFL, I thought his experience could be beneficial to their formation. I'd imagine he has a mental notebook of tips on how to handle different defensive linemen, albeit mostly in the NFC, that you might not always be able to pick up on film.

I'd rather the Bills offer to give him an assistant coaching job without him retiring if he could thought he could play next year.
Sisyphean Bills Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 I think I'm missing something. Do any of the other 31 teams want him? Affirmative conclusions from negative premises never get old. Here's another one. No team wins a Super Bowl without a great QB, and Jeff Hostetler won a Super Bowl, ergo Jeff Hostetler was a great QB.
