  1. If they got a 5th for Elam then Beane actually is a wizard.
  2. I think Beane is clearly an above average GM. But he also does not deserve the "wizard" and "BBB" monikers that some people bestow on him. He is in the 8-12 range imo
  3. Wisdom. I have NO idea how Beane was able to make trades in previous drafts. He seems to be able to do it each and every year despite all GMs having the same information and desires. Are we so lucky as to have some sorta wizard as a GM?
  4. Bills #1 last year, #2 in 22, and #9 Quantification proving Beane is a Wizard
  5. Invisible man strikes again. thanks for the memories. 0 sacks 0 TFL’s and 1 QB hit in 5 playoff games. Beane is a wizard!
  6. In that case "Wizard" Beane deserves blame, also.
  7. If people really can read this list and go back and look at guys like Chris Ivory, who got gifted an oversized guaranteed contract and really think Beane is some sort of Wizard, y’all need to see better magicians.
  8. I’ve seen many posters on here calling Beane a wizard for re-signing our own. This is no different and the players the Bengals re-signed are all difference makers, I don’t think it will hinder them as long as they draft well which is not ideal for us if they do. Yes I’ve seen the Eagles losses but I have no doubt in my mind Howie Roseman will fill the losses appropriately as he’s done since they won a SB with Nick Foles.
  9. The bar is on the floor for Brandon Beane. he extends players, cuts players, and restructures players to create more cap room. What a wizard. Every GM whose owner is willing to spend money does this. Every single one. The reason the Bills used to never do this was because of Ralph Wilson, not their old GM’s. The biggest monetary addition of the FA period was Josh Palmer. That ain’t wizardry. Yeah I found the Hoecht and Palmer deals particularly bizarre. usually if you are dumpster diving for boom or bust guys, you at least get them at a discount?
  10. Aren’t you glad we have kick ass WRs, draft picks, and cap space? Or should we have followed your wisdom, and blown all that on Ayiuk or Adams? One of you and Beane is a Wizard.
  11. Its pretty obvious, you waste our QBs best years with overpaying wrs that make no difference and not signing guys much cheaper that did. Makes no sense he values the wr position so badly. He got Diggs and traded our top pick, we knew what we were getting, Beane has done nothing on either side of the ball since Josh Allen that mattered, we just paid Shakir 15m per, a reciever that had worse stats than one we let go for 4m for 12m. Paid a boatload of money for a LB that is very much not worth the price, I could go on but blah. I guess we disagree about Beane the wizard, the guy that was celebrated for trading Elam away for a 5th, 7th, swap 6 exchange from the Bills, basically nothing but the cap savings. Not only did Beane use a 1st to draft him, he also used other picks to move up to get Elam after the panic move 9f KC drafting Mcduffie right in front of them
  12. MOST COMPLETE OFFENSE IN THE GAME!! OL - PHENOMENAL; Beane is a wizard QB - MVP RB - LETHAL - 3 Beasts WR - DYNAMIC- Coleman is official, Shakir is the real deal, Hollins is an enigma, Cooper is dominant TE - BEST DUO IN THE GAME
  13. I'd have this offseason in the C+ or B- range so far pending the draft. People on here act like Beane is a wizard for restructuring some contracts to open up cap space when literally every single team does it. The extensions were pretty decent $$ amounts, especially Josh's. The only multi year contracts to FA's feel like overpays (Palmer and Hoecht). The 1 year deals to Bosa and Ogunjobie are low risk if they can stay healthy maybe they have a big impact type deals. Guessing he padded those out with void years as well, but we'll see. Overall he's added some decent role players at decent prices. Nothing to write home about
  14. Siran Neil and Jordan Poyer. Beane's a wizard.
  15. Hmm... Thats a pretty full plate for Beane to manage. But he is a Wizard after all 😋 Buh Bye Miller Ha great context and humor Egg !
  16. Coleman allowing beane to retain his wizard badge
  17. Wizard Beane got rid of Diggs before he broke down running a route.
  18. This reminds me of the debate on Edmunds couple years ago. Lot of people here said Buffalo had to re-sign him to a huge contract because they didn't have anyone else on the roster to fill the position. Didn't hear much about it after Bernard took the job and almost immediately showed that Edmunds actually wasn't worth keeping. There are trade-offs to not re-signing players who have produced, namely the uncertainty about who'll replace them. Mr. Wizard, Beane, has gotten away with re-signing their own because his drafting hasn't been that great. But if they're ever going to get some cap room it's going to take not keeping all of your own and finding similar type players in UFA or especially the draft who won't get paid big money.
  19. See here’s the thing. You’re looking at this far more emotionally than I am. i really enjoy analyzing the Bills. I did during the drought. I do now. During the drought it was more of “how can the Bills sneak into the playoffs” exercise, now it’s “how can the Bills get a SB”. I readily admit that Beane and McD are average at least at the NFL level. I’m on record that McD is a top 10 coach and it’s not debatable imo. The problem is, the standard is the standard. We currently have a 1 of 38 QB. We didn’t in the drought. I would have killed for Beane and McD in 2014. I wouldn’t anymore. I have long believed and argued on here for probably a decade that almost all of your teams’ success derives from the QB. If you have a future HoF QB, you are likely going to be really good, every year. That’s borne fruit for about 25 in the NFL with a few exceptions. So when we talk about how Beane is great because of the team record, I roll my eyes. That’s a Josh Allen stat. When we talk about the multiple AFCE titles, I roll my eyes. That’s a Josh Allen (and the other QBs in the East) stat. But that’s fine. Not everyone agrees. Who cares. What’s even more maddening is the folks who watch this dude “pay” significant contracts to 3 players and two of them get popped for PEDs. Or who watch this dude start the offseason last year with massive holes at WR, S and DT and start the offseason this year with massive holes at WR, S and DT. Or watch him draft disappointments like Oliver or Ford or AJE or Kincaid or Elam or Coleman. And somehow call him a wizard? Whereas I look at all of those moves, “hey, if only one or two of those aren’t terrible decisions, we probably have a ring today.” He’s fine. Imo of the big 3 (Allen, McD and Beane) he’s the furthest from the tops of the league and that’s why I’m hard on him. Because I think he’s the biggest thing holding us back. Period.
  20. Need to keep that pipeline open and flowing with young black Assistant GM's! Beane is a wizard, and the belief will be anybody surrounding him must be the next top-gun. kinda like the pipeline of young WR's through the draft and Josh hyping them up for big deals elsewhere after 4 seasons... we all know who's steering. If we can lift someone else up, get a sick return, supplementing our draft capital..... then thats best for everyone and Im dead serious I wouldnt hire a white guy (coming from a white guy too). Play the game within the rules youre given
  21. Sometimes you need to admit the mistake and take your medicine. Now I’ll go back on my soap box and say the 5th year option is for SUCKERS. If a guy isn’t good enough to earn a real extension already, you shouldn’t be giving them a guaranteed year at nearly franchise tag price, it’s stupid. You hand away your negotiating leverage, you can always franchise if the guy suddenly figures it out, but how often does that really happen? You almost always end up paying more for no reason and it’s GUARANTEED a year ahead of seeing the performance. Only idiots use the 5th year option and boy does Beane love to back himself into a corner with it. Yep, but boy trading up was off the table because they needed to recoup the 3rd round pick they lost filling a mid season hole.. so now you know what’s coming.. WR is the second highest paid position on the field, the Bills are scraping the bottom of the barrel and are too stupid to draft an elite one in the first round, year after year, so here we are. Please tell me how great the Wizard of Beane has made the team.
  22. Imagine how much worse off we would be without Beane the Wizard (tm)
  23. Why not? We have been doing that the past three years. Remember beane is a wizard.
  24. Kudos to Brandon beane. He's a wizard!!
