  1. Announced today. Some of you hardcore football fans might be able to shed light on some of these players. I know Puca Nacua's brother, Kai was named all-league safety and that the placekicker Jake Bates made 3 FGs of over 60 yards. I wonder how many of these guys end up signing with an NFL team near you. 2024 All-UFL Team Offense Quarterback - Adrian Martinez, Birmingham Stallions Running Back - Jacob Saylors, St. Louis Battlehawks Wide Receiver - Hakeem Butler, St. Louis Battlehawks; Daewood Davis, Memphis Showboats; Marcus Simms, Michigan Panthers Tight End - Jace Sternberger, Birmingham Stallions Offensive Tackle - Jaryd Jones-Smith, St. Louis Battlehawks; Bobby Evans, Arlington Renegades Offensive Guard - Zack Johnson, Birmingham Stallions; Kohl Levao, San Antonio Brahmas Center - Mike Panasiuk, St. Louis Battlehawks Defense Defensive Line - Carlos Davis, Birmingham Stallions; Daniel Wise, Michigan Panthers Edge/Outside Linebacker - Chris Odom, Houston Roughnecks; Breeland Speaks, Michigan Panthers Inside Linebacker - Tavante Beckett, San Antonio Brahmas; Willie Harvey, St. Louis Battlehawks Cornerback - Deandre Baker, D.C. Defenders; Nate Brooks, Michigan Panthers; Ajene Harris, Arlington Renegades Safety - Kai Nacua, Michigan Panthers; A.J. Thomas, Birmingham Stallions Special Teams Kicker - Jake Bates, Michigan Panthers Punter - Marquette King, Arlington Renegades Long Snapper - Jordan Ober, Michigan Panthers Return Specialist - Chris Rowland, D.C. Defenders
  2. Nate Odomes had a similar career to Tre. Very productive, lasted longer than the average CB but injuries ended his career in a similar fashion.
  3. I mention this somewhere else, but I listen to a lot of the podcasts with the film and scout guys. Daniel Jeremiah, Mel Kiper, Nate Tice, Dane Brugler... etc. They stress that when scouting a prospect you really value the highs. Coleman's highs look pretty darn good. And I really think it's what he does on punt returns more than anything that convinces me to that the skepticism of his athleticism and potential is overblown.
  4. And here I was thinking that was EJ Manuel. Knowing the charmed life Nate Hackett has lived, I fully expect he'll get yet another life.
  5. Here is what seems to be the most accepted formula. Google it and see for yourself how often this formula comes up. https://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2014/5/8/5683486/nfl-draft-trade-value-chart This chart doesn't list the value of the following year's picks but it does list the Bills #10 at 1,300 for a return of 786 (for picks 27 and 91). Even if the 2018 pick closed the gap somewhat, does the fact that the Bills were in desperate need for a quarterback escape you? The following is the 2017 Bills roster. It lists 3 QBs: 1) Tyrod Taylor 2) Nate Peterman 3) Joe Webb https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/buf/2017_roster.htm Does this appear to you to be a team that needed a cornerback more than a quarterback? If so, please help me understand your conclusion. Do ya think that KC Fans dislike ther fact that McDermott handed them a certain HOF QB, one of the best ever? Really, try to be serious. You may see those of us who think this was an almost indescribably stupid deal as being "nonsensical. Frankly I find this comment to be rude and presumptous but that's just me. Am I happy with Josh? Very happy!!!! We are extremely lucky that he fell to us, unless of course you think that McDermott planned this at the time of the trade. In any case, welcome to TSW.
  6. Both of these are easy for me. Player: Late Nate Peterman. I've lived in Los Angeles since '91, so getting to see a Bills game live is a cherished experience. I was at that game against the Chargers in 2017. It was a beautiful day, in a wonderfully intimate 24,000-seat Stubhub Arena. Fourteen passing attempts, six completions, five interceptions. All in the first half. And let me tell you, friends-- those tickets were ***** expensive. Perhaps, I could have just moved on, and not held on to my bitterness all these years. But, the salt in the wound was... the Bills kept him on the roster. They kept him on the roster the following season! He has never done anything but stunk up the field whenever he takes a snap, but that muther ***** is still in the league!!! (Currently on the NO Saints.) Coach: Rex Ryan. I was sickened when they hired that fat tub of *****. I was afraid he was going to turn the Bills-- a team that was enduring the longest playoff drought in the league-- into even more of a laughing stock. And he did. His tenure was a weekly crap show of embarrassment. It was some of the most press coverage the Bills have ever received, and for all the wrong reasons. Without exaggeration, he took a top three ranked defense, and with one starting personnel change, put them into the bottom three. After the Jet's released IK Enemkpali for breaking Gino Smith's jaw in the Jet's locker room shower, Ryan promptly signed him, and made him a captain for the Jets game, so he could be out in middle of the field, avoiding eye contact with Smith, for the coin toss. That classless move is everything one needs to know about that man's integrity.
  7. I thought the Kyle Brandt take was interesting for a similar reason. He said it's hard to imagine that Diggs relationship with Josh Allen or his relationship with the Bills "or both" had nothing to do with this, because both were "mercurial at best". Kyle has been a Josh Allen fan-boy for a couple of years, and we can probably assume he has a bit of "tea" in the pot "off the record" there. I agree with Nate that Josh's input was probably sought (not his vote as Geary implies, but his input), and that if Josh had said "He's My Guy" and went to the mat, it probably doesn't go down, at least not for a bag of peanuts and a case of that underwear Stef and his brother shill for.

  9. Yeah, I don't think Nate is doing the team or Josh any favors by bringing negative attention to him from a situation from well over a year ago. Seems very tacky and unprofessional to even go there. If something happened, it happened and can't be taken back. When people ask him what happened, he keeps responding with "read my article". So tacky. FWIW I "read his article" and it said nothing of what happened, just that something happened, which he has already stated on Twitter. We have been having a really funky off season, do we have to bring negative attention to the QB, all to stick up for a WR that has his own not so great reputation?
  10. Nate Wiggins felt a pop in his groin after running 4.29 and is being taken back for evaluation. Already been told he is done for the day.
  11. Nate rightly or wrongly learned how to play the game. I guarantee he is the most dedicated backup QB in the game right now. He’s getting the starter coffee, turning on the projector, prepping the film. he’s probably doing it all. Good for him. His body wouldn’t allow him to be an NFL player, but he’s gonna get an NFL pension because he knows his role and does it the best.
  12. With the 33rd pick of the TSW mock draft version 2.0 the Detroit Lions select: Kool-Aid McKinstry, Corner, Alabama The Lions roster has very few genuine needs but they are not good enough at corner. Even though Nate Wiggins would have been my BPA if still on the board selecting him here would not be a scheme fit. It would have been very Elam to the Bills. Halfway through the 2022 season the Lions moved to mainly a zone coverage scheme on the backend and have been a significantly better defense since. Wiggins is a man specialist but I am not sold on his fit in a zone scheme and he has short arms that limit his ability to make plays on the ball in off coverage. So I am going for Kool-Aid. I know it is a repeat of what @section122 did in version 1.0 but it just makes most sense, but I also picked up a couple of extra picks in the process. @section122 and the Patriots are now on the clock.

Yahoo Sports https://sports.yahoo.com/nfl-week-4-power-rankings-bills-look-like-best-team-in-football-take-top-spot-035901463.html As I expected some are making the switch at Number 1…as they should! The 33rd Team https://www.the33rdteam.com/2024-nfl-week-4-power-rankings-vikings-challenge-chiefs-for-top-spot/ Thank you for the Bills, however, I must say you can’t keep a team in the top five at 1-2. Sports Illustrated https://www.si.com/nfl/nfl-power-rankings-week-4-vikings-steelers-jets Oh gut check time now for the Bills? The MAC portion of their schedule is over? Got it. I also got that when we beat the Ravens next week they are suddenly not going to be that challenging of team that just barely lost to the Chiefs in week 1. The Bills don’t need the zebras to bail for them like the chiefs do. Bleacher Report https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10136370-br-experts-week-4-nfl-power-rankings-where-does-every-team-stand "The only reason I have the Bills ranked behind Kansas City is that Buffalo's opponents this year are a combined 2-7," As previously alluded to there, Capt., the Chiefs opponents are a combined 2-7 in all games, too. The only difference between the two? The Bills don't struggle or need help from the refs to win their games. Pro Football Talk (Florio) https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/pfts-week-4-2024-nfl-power-rankings Where else would you rather be than right here, right now? Thank you, PFT, because its not about who won last year.
  14. They actually have a pretty good roster. Their defense is very good and their offense has receivers, an RB and a really good line outside of the center spot….Althought I think both Powers and McGlichnchey, message board targets last year are both pretty terrible and very overrated. They don’t have a QB obviously and that is a huge problem. But I think they are far from the worst team in the league. They are an 8-9 type group imo. I don’t think Stidham is the guy, but I could see him starting a year as a bridge. Now if they trade Cortland Sutton and sign Nate Peterman or something, they arw tanking. I do think Sean Payton wants to prove he can win without Brees, just like BB tried to do in NE. And that’s why Stidham will get a shot. These guys are about ego.
  15. mahomes, stafford, russell wilson, joe flacco, aaron rodgers, the rest non-starting QB's: Detroit Lions QB Nate Sudfeld (Philadelphia Eagles; 2018) Kansas City Chiefs QB Blaine Gabbert (Tampa Bay Buccaneers; 2021) Las Vegas Raiders QB Jimmy Garoppolo (New England Patriots; 2014, 2017) Las Vegas Raiders QB Brian Hoyer (New England Patriots; 2019) New York Giants QB Tyrod Taylor (Baltimore Ravens; 2012) New York Jets QB Trevor Siemian (Denver Broncos; 2015) Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB John Wolford (Los Angeles Rams; 2022) Washington Commanders QB Jacoby Brissett (New England Patriots; 2017) History says the Super Bowl losing QB doesn't fare well so Purdy is out. Lamar Jackson is a joke. Burrow has a chance if he can be healthy. CJ Stroud has his sophomore slump to go through, Jalen Hurts was exposed, Baker Mayfield is the GOAT. I'd say he has a fair take.
  16. Here’s my mock draft so I don’t lose it next year lol 1. Bears - QB Caleb Williams 2. Commanders - QB Jayden Daniels 3. TRADE! Giants - QB Drake Maye 4. Cardinals - WR Marvin Harrison Jr 5. 17. I would hope that Beane would be all over DK Metcalf if he were available in June. But I think they might be bought into a "rebuild" for 2025 mode and cling to all of their draft capital. I remember entering the 2007 offseason there was real hype building with media talking heads and Bills fans about how the Bills were putting together a young team that could soon challenge the Patriots. Fans were really in on Dick Jauron and drinking he and Marv's Kool aid. It was seen as OK that they let Nate Clements leave in UFA without using the franchise tag because they were getting their guys and getting younger. Then the Patriots traded a 4th round pick for Randy Moss........and proceeded to create MASSIVE distance between them and the Bills. They literally scored 8 straight TD's in the game at Buffalo that season as they went f*cking 16-0 with the highest scoring offense in NFL history. Moss tore Jauron's asssup for 3 years until he was rightfully sh!tcanned. The moral of the story is that only a fool would expect that the championship team that you have been chasing will get complacent or be conservative and get themselves caught. No team has won 3 straight Super Bowls. The Chiefs KNOW that it will be harder to get this 3rd one and they may well just go to excess to create separation between them and opponents. The Bills should be in on a difference maker like Metcalf. He's not going to bring a 1st round return............so don't NOT get DK Metcalf just so you can get a shot on next years Cole Bishop.
  18. Right, J.D. Blazingly fast, with long arms but just couldn't track the ball or stick with his man. Strange, and a real bummer, because a shut-down corner across from Nate Odomes was just what that team needed.
  19. Back in the '90s and 2000s, it was common for the Bills to use a first round pick on a CB. He'd spend five or (Nate Clements) six years with the team, then leave in free agency. Another first round pick would be used on his replacement. The RB position was similar, except the duration of RBs was often even shorter than for CBs. There was a period of 40 years, during which the Bills used 1/4 of their first picks of the draft on DBs, and another 1/4 on RBs. Leaving only 50% for everything else. Needless to say, the Bills lost more games than they won during those 40 years. When I evaluate the success of a particular draft pick, I look at the quality of the player. But I also look at the duration of play he provided for the team which drafted him. Both Cordy Glenn and Travis Henry were drafted in the second round. Glenn was with the team for far longer than Travis Henry, which is one of several reasons why Glenn was a much more successful use of a 2nd round pick. Edmunds had great athleticism. For certain situations or in certain games he played at a high level. But, his football instincts were poor, and he was bad at shedding blocks. Someone posted a stat that, during his time with the Bills, he was blitzed 70 times or so (I forget the exact number). That resulted in zero pressures. If you take into account both the good and bad parts of his game, he was not worth anything close to the monster contract he got. At least not to me. I would never want to use a first round pick on an off-the-ball linebacker whose game had as many weaknesses as Edmunds' did, and who was only going to be with the team for five years. Harrison Phillips is a very solid player. But, like you said, a very solid player for the Vikings. Just as Wyatt Teller is an excellent player for the Cleveland Browns. I give Beane a lot of credit for drafting both those players in the first place. But he gets anti-credit for failing to keep them. Either player would be a real benefit to the Bills, if added right now. In terms of that draft, I give Beane the most credit for taking Josh Allen (obviously), and the second-most for Taron Johnson. Johnson may not be as good a player as a guy like Wyatt Teller, but at least he's still with the team.
  20. Watching Allen play QB makes it hard to watch other QBs play QB... everyone else looks like Nate Peterman trying to throw an out to the far sideline now.
  21. With the 43rd pick in the 2024 NFL draft, the Arizona “Draft Crushing” Cardinals (via trade with Atlanta) select: Chris Braswell, Edge/LB, Alabama CLICK HERE FOR HIGHLIGHTS Having 5 picks in round 3, we are thrilled about trading 2 of them to move up to get someone with his kind of speed to power ratio and with the kind of pass rush first step that’s like a gun shot and keeps offensive lineman up at night. Not only does he bolster our pass rush, but he brings the athleticism and fluidity to drop into coverage and run with those TE’s. We are confident our defensive staff can continue to coach him up and develop his pass rush techniques to be able to wreak havoc at the next level. Draft Recap: TRADES #4 - Trade 4, 138, 162 for 6, 70, 107 #27 - Trade 27 for 32 and 95 Cardinals still have a 2nd at pick 35 and now have 5 picks in the 3rd plus 2 more in the 4th to go with a couple late picks. #43 - We acquire 43 for picks 66 and 71. #6 - ROME ODUNZE, WR, WASHINGTON #32 - NATE WIGGINS, CB, CLEMSON #35 - DARIUS ROBINSON, DT, MISSOURI #43 - CHRIS BRASWELL, LB/EDGE ALABAMA If we were done here, this would be an A+++...but we are still sitting on three 3rd round picks and 2 more in the 4th to bolster more of our offense as well, such as another WR, IOL or RB. Who knows, maybe we see each other again before the rounds over @CNYfanand the Las Vegas Raiders are now on the clock.
  22. Did he though? His best games came against the a freshman corner at UNC, a backup corner and safety at Georgia, Furman, 1-7 in SEC play MSU, 3-5 Florida, Jacksonville State, 0-8 Vanderbilt. His best game was probably against 3-5 Kentucky when he went one on one against Andru Phillips who is a good player. He is pretty good downfield when he can be more physical than the other player and push off or jump over them. He takes a lot of steps to turn those vertical routes and transition them into a comeback or dig. He also is pretty good at running crossers. Watching all of his targets really disappointed me. He was not good at screens or end arounds, regularly getting tackles one on one by everyone including players from Furman, etc. He didn’t run his agilities and you can see why as him getting tackled one on one looks to be from him not being able to dodge players laterally or run through tacklers at his feet. He is very fast when he gets a runway to run a straight line For a five year player, his route running is so under developed which makes you wonder how long it will take him to develop effective counters to corners that take away his verticals. Watching Nate Wiggins mirror him and Legette not having any counter was disappointing. To me, he is a one dimensional player at the moment. You can send him vertical or have him run a crosser but that is not a first round player. Even those hoping he could be the second coming of DK: he is smaller, slower and does not stack vertically like DK did. I think he is a later day 2 guy based on taking a shot on measurables def not day 1, imo.
  23. (Sorry... this may or may not belong in Off the Wall) Is it an age thing? I don't think I can listen to anything but podcasts at this point. When I listen to music, it's just music I know that I create as Playlists on Pandora. My non-football podcasts are now down to Throughline and Freakanomics. Most of my podcasts are Bills/NFL related, though. Bruce Nolan and The Bruce Exclusive was my absolute favorite Bills podcast... but like right before the draft Buffalo Rumblings went kaput and he lost his platform. Even when he was on, it was only once a week for less than an hour... so not remotely time consuming. Which means I guess I would say Joe Marino's Locked on Bills is my favorite now. I have my gripes... primarily I just think he’s incredibly Robotic and lacks any real personality (unlike Bruce Nolan), but he tries to pretend like he has a lot of personality and he 100% knows his football with a background in scouting. He also has a daily podcast and comes up with pretty good ideas for them every day (the opposite of this would be Pat Moran's Talking Buffalo podcast, which just has a lot of useless, unentertaining time) and so I can say I legitimately listen to pretty much every episode. As for non-football podcasts, The Athletic Football Show with Robert Mayes as host (Nate Tice left just a couple weeks ago) is 100% by far the best sports (and maybe any???) podcast I've listened to. It airs 3 or 4 days a week and every show is informative and entertaining, even if it's non-Bills related. I just listened to a 90 minute podcast about the lingering questions of the NFC East and made it from beginning to end without the desire to turn it off. Mayes is a fun, knowledgeable, funny host who brings good guests on. I miss Tice, but the show hasn't missed a beat. There's also an Athletic Football show GM podcast hosted by Mike Sando featuring Randy Mueller. It's not as good but I listen to it and find it interesting and sometimes informative. Sando does a great job but Mueller has some bizarre takes sometimes... almost like he stopped watching football 15-20 years ago. A very close 2nd for the non-football podcast to listen to is The Mina Kimes show (featuring Lenny). She's an awesome host. Everything I said about Mayes applies to her. I understand there may be some bias one way or another since she's on TV, but she's really created an excellent listen for all the reasons The Athletic Football Show is. Only problem is that her's is only once or twice a week. How about you guys?
  24. I have enjoyed doing this on a monthly basis so nearing the end of September and look at kind of best case worst case, I will get to the NFC later this week. Agree, disagree, tell me I am completely wrong lets do this: AFC Title Rematch Incoming Buffalo- The last time they went 3-0 out of the gate they went to the AFC title. 17 is playing the best he ever has, the youth is taking a strong step, and the coaching has been a revelation. There will be obstacles and up & downs throughout, but this team seems to have a vibe that maybe it is their time to take a shot at the title from KC. Kansas City- They have not looked great in any of the games this year, injuries have mounted, and they have had some fortune go their way. Still until they lose in the playoffs they are the immovable object for everyone else and Mahomes never goes away. 3-0 without playing your best ball is scary for everyone else and their schedule is relatively light especially after knocking out CIN and BAL already. Hype Is High, Results Are Ok, But Remains To Be Seen Where They Go New York- Two and one feels about right as the offense seems to be finding its way and Rodgers is looking more comfortable. Their defense though has some tough injuries and the depth up front is not what it was. With CIN 0-3, MIA 1-2 and Tualess they should walk into the playoffs at this point, but the path might be bumpier then many thought. Also why does Nate Hackett keep getting jobs? Houston- The CJ Stroud hype train slowed down after Flores threw everything including the kitchen sink at him with no answer by Stroud. Houston will win this division because it is trash otherwise and the talent is certainly on the roster. BUT their is a reason Mahomes/Allen/Jackson/Burrow have been held to a certain level the last bunch of years and Stroud needs to take another step if he truly is going into their atmosphere. Future Looks Interesting And One of Them Will Take A Playoff Spot From Someone (CIN/BAL) You Expected In Pittsburgh- Fields has taken a true step and their offense is actually watchable. He may never be the all pro many hoped, but he is providing solid play and growing which mixed with that defense is a real issue for most of their opponents. It is a long season but Pittsburgh has built a nice cushion to work from and the division could be theirs if all goes well. Los Angeles Bolt People- The talent is in a reset and Alt being out hurts, but good coaching does wonders. Their schedule is relatively light this year and with expected contenders like CIN, BAL, & MIA all having issues (JAC out of the picture) their is a decent path available if they can hold serve. 0-3 Is A Tough Hole For Anyone & The Directions For Both Teams Are Very Murky Cincy- This has felt like the last dance for this CIN group as with big contracts to pay 2025 will see major change. Unfortunately for Bengal fans the losses on defense in the offseason haven't been filled and even with Burrow playing far better going 10-4 the remainder of the way with only 6 home games left is a tough ask in this division. The loss to NE week 1 has removed any remaining room for error at this point. Jacksonville- I think most football fans wanted/hoped to see Trevor Lawrence blossom further as he is a fun player to watch, but this year has shown regression instead. Time is running out and requires a real soul searching effort across the roster to right this ship back to float otherwise coach and maybe even QB could see their days numbered. The QB Is Sinking These Teams For Different Reasons Cleveland- The remainder of the roster is solid but Watson is sinking any chance this team has and the capable backup they have (who probably is better at this point) isn't getting the call which feels like a mistake the longer the season goes. I have said the Browns last year got all the breaks and this year was market correction, it could get real bad by December in Believeland. Miami- Year 3 and pre Tua injury it already looked like the magic McDaniel had might have been getting low as it was. Without Tua they go from playoff hopeful to a team that very possibly is drafting top 10. Tua will never be a top 5 QB, but he is solid and Miami is learning how frail their lineup is without him and that McDaniel might not be as good of a coach as thought prior. AFC South QBs Indy- Richardson is soo erratic but also makes 2-3 plays weekly that are highlight real stuff to watch like his 78 yard TD vs Houston. Playoffs are probably a no given his up & down nature plus their defense being so beat up, but perhaps Richardson can take a step and gain some consistency to even out his game. If so next year could be really interesting in IND. Tennessee- Will Levis experience is Josh Allen in 2018-19 on red bull x 5. He successfully cost them weeks 1 & 2 and last week was not very good. But the talent is real if he can ever get the wildness reigned in, the Ridley TD week 2 vs NYJ was gorgeous. The rest of the team is whatever, pretty much everything rides on whether Levis can find control and consistency for how things pan out short and long term. No One Knows What Their Plan Is Or Goal This Year/Long Term Chan Gailey Drought Bills Las Vegas- The roster has some legit talent on it, but realistically they are bottom 3rd in the AFC with no true solution at QB while playing for a coach who keeps their team around to not be bad enough to draft high. They will be 5-7 come December in the hunt before finishing 5-12/6-11 and wasting another year with no real plan. Breaking In New QBs, It Is All About Growth New England- Mayo started off hot and has his team playing hard, but realistically it will be a long year. Once Maye is in their season will be judged off how he grows or doesn't. Denver- Nix had a very good game week 3 and DEN fans should just hope the growth arrow continues to point further up as the season goes. Their defense is not bad, but the overall roster needs another offseason to infuse talent while Nix finds his way this year.
  25. With the 35th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Arizona "Draft Crushing" Cardinals select: Darius Robinson, DT, Missouri CLICK HERE FOR HIGHLIGHTS We are excited to bring in someone with the kind of versatility as Darius who can play inside and out on the Edge for us. He brings a power at the point of attack and an ability to engage and shed blockers which we believe will bring immediate value to his ability to come in and compete early for us. With his stout ability against the run and his continued growth in diversifying his pass rush moves, we believe he can be an anchor upfront for us for along time and thrilled to steal him here at the top of 2nd round. Having already added Odunze, Wiggins, and now Robinson we feel we have really added to the future of both sides of the ball. And because of our small trade downs, we still have 5 picks in the third round and 2 more in the 4th to use to really set an immediate foundation for the future of Cardinals football. #6 - ROME ODUNZE, WR, WASHINGTON #32 - NATE WIGGINS, CB, CLEMSON #35 - DARIUS ROBINSON, DT, MISSOURI If we were done here, this would be an A+++...but still most a 2nd round to go and we are sitting on 7 picks through rounds 3 and 4.
