  1. https://www.espn.com/tennis/story/_/id/28461503/jessica-pegula-pulls-upset-meet-serena-williams-auckland-final Wow! Pretty cool, congrats Jesse!
  2. Remember this one? Did anyone else just completely forget we even had Zay Jones on our team this year? Quite a few dismissed Williams as a joke in favor of Jones, the "proven" NFL commodity. Well, to those people, you can argue that Zay had more receptions and more yards than D'haquille did. So here's the question: who has the better NFL career from here on out, Duke or Zay?
  3. I know it is time to move on. The ridiculous number of bad calls by the refs are still frustrating. No more thinking about it after today...but... Much discussed have been the reversed kick off TD, Ford illegal block, expired play clock, Allen helmet to helmet hit, Hopkins gift first down. These were the obvious ones - but take a look here at the 2pt conversion. Johnson is blocking Poyer then moving towards his own end zone blocks Edmunds which is what gets Watson the conversion. Since they are clearing thinking about illegal blocks why no call on Duke Johnson here which actually impacts the play unlike Ford? They dont get that conversion there its 16-6 which becomes 16-9 then 16-16 not 16-19... https://www.trendsmap.com/twitter/tweet/1213846088999936007 Can only imagine how many other plays there are out there.
  4. This is pretty wild. Duke goes from the inactive list to playing more snaps than our #2 receiver. What a bizarre game plan.
  5. I was thinking recently who Duke Williams reminds me of and the conclusion I came up is Anquan Boldin. Im thinking if he could lose about 10-15 pounds and not lose his strength he would be close in physical stature and style of play. He is how they compare: Anquan Boldin 40 yard dash time: 4.71 4.73 seconds Height: 6′ 1″ Weight: 216 pounds Vertical: 33.5 inches Broad Jump: N/A Hand Size: 9.88" ARM LENGTH 30.00" DUKE WILLIAMS 40-yard dash: 4.66 and 4.69 seconds Height: 6′ 2″ Weight: 229 pounds Vertical: 30 1/2 inches Broad Jump: 9 feet, 10 inches Hand Size: 9.25" ARM LENGTH 32.5 " Draft Profile: Big frame and usually plays to his size. Will post up cornerbacks down the field and uses his body to shield throws from defenders. Natural pass catcher with soft hands. Saw 82 percent of his catches go for first downs in 2014. At his best in longer developing, intermediate routes. Does solid job of setting up routes with leverage points and head fakes. Makes downfield catches with well-timed hands to consistently pluck throws at the high point and will lay out to make the tough catch. Can grind out an extra couple of yards after the catch in order to get the first down. Has the size to help run game as a blocker if his care factor is right. As I stated above if Duke works on his body and craft in the off-season he may have a chance to increase his playing time next year
  6. I know I know, another Duke thread but I am PISSED that most people seem to think Duke dropped this TD pass when he didn't. The DB had his left arm hooked, not allowing him to make the catch (which is illegal and pass interference by rule) and yet he STILL almost made it. You simply can't EXPECT a receiver to be able to make that grab and ESPECIALLY can't count it as a freaking drop. I don't want this false narrative floating around and wanted to provide the evidence BUT CANT FIND IT ANYWHERE. Can someone on here who as the game recorded and cares enough about the truth to set the record straight. Duke made some amazing catches for a guy running scout team most of the season. He would make an amazing #3 receiver and deserves much more respect than he is getting from many misinformed fans. PLEASE HELP SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT! (mods please dont merge or delete this. Its important for the overall fan perception of a guy who led our team in targets for a reason. It would be a damn shame for this misconception that he has questionable hands to live amongst our fans)
  7. Any mentions in media or by the coaching staff why Duke Williams isn’t on the 53 msn roster?
  8. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2019/03/12/former-bills-dt-kyle-williams-qualifies-for-u-s-amateur-four-ball-championship/ 8 Under Par! One of my All-Time favorite Bills.
  9. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/news/three-round-2019-nfl-mock-draft-bills-get-quinnen-williams-patriots-take-two-tes-and-a-qb-redskins-load-up-on-offense/ um.....yes. Also a fan of the 2nd round pick to the Bills. Not sure about the 3rd round pick, but it's another Allen. some other interesting picks here, with Tillery (DL) and Risner (OT) going in the 1st.
  10. I would love to see the Bills get Williams whether he drops to them or they move up. I really don’t think Ed Oliver is going to great. He is a great athlete but that only gets you great stats in college. Once he gets to the NFL I think he will be an average rotational player. Quinnen Williams is a beast bills need to find a way
  11. We do need a defensive end. http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/26415157/source-browns-ogbah-no-shows-expects-trade 1.35 mill - so very reasonable salary and that too is not guaranteed. Natural fit for a 4-3 defense - can line up at either end - he is quick enough to handle left tackles and large enough to hold right tackles at bay. Only problem is that he is a bit inconsistent. I think a 5th or lower draft pick should do it - will be a Ragland like trade. Also what about Duke Johnson at RB? He averaged 5 yards an attempt in limited opportunities and is on the outside looking in after the Kareem hunt signing. Our Rb situation (with the oldies) is quite attractive to people looking for playing time.
  12. https://www.cfl.ca/2018/10/21/oleary-perspective-helped-duke-re-route-harrowing-path/ I'm hoping he finds his happy zone here in Buffalo. He could help a lot I think if he is as committed as this piece suggests
  13. Played his college ball at Auburn. Spent last 2 years in CFL. 25 years old and led the CFL in receiving last year: https://www.tsn.ca/former-eskimos-wr-williams-signs-with-bills-1.1237089
  14. If I were the GM in Buffalo I would be getting rid of Shady this off season and picking up this guy in the draft. A running back who started 3 years in college has the size to run up the middle and speed to finish with the ability to catch out of the backfield. He is a day 1 starter and a back you can get late second early 3rd.
  15. ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — Kyle Williams is in no rush to determine his future. And the Buffalo Bills aren’t going to push the defensive tackle into making a decision about returning for a 14th season any time soon in what’s become an annual game of wait and see when it comes to the team’s respected leader and longest-tenured active player. “Do you want to read the transcript back from last year,” Williams said with a laugh on Wednesday. He was referring to the noncommittal responses he provided to the same questions a year ago before signing a one-year contract in March. And Williams’ comments were hardly different after the 2016 season, when he briefly contemplated retirement before electing to return in February for what was the final season of his three-year contract. The same applies this time, with Williams and the Bills (5-10) preparing to close out the season hosting Miami (7-8) on Sunday. Sure, the 35-year-old said, the thought of his future has briefly crossed his mind. And no, Williams isn’t going to share even a hint as to which way he’s leaning because it would only be a distraction. Otherwise, no timetable and no commitment. “I think whenever the decision comes out will be the appropriate time,” Williams said, appreciating how little he was divulging. It’s a stance the Bills fully respect, and a topic general manager Brandon Beane has no intention of broaching with the season coming to a close. “I’m not going to grab him on Monday and say, ‘Hey, Kyle, do you want to play?’” Beane told The Associated Press. “I think you’ve got to let him get away, let the body calm down, the mind, and then decide.” That said, Beane is more than open to having Williams return, and said the decision is essentially up to the player.
  16. Let’s say we have pick 8 and both of these beasts are available (and for all us BPA guys they are tied in BPA value). Who do you pick??? This would kill me. Oliver has generational talent on the D line but Williams could be a decade long anchor with the ability to play all positions. Struggling with this if I am given then choice. Safer choice is Williams but bigger upside is Oliver. What say you?
  17. I think he gets both. Bills should send him off in style, and give him the rock inside the Fish 5 yard line. GO KYLE!!
  18. I think our run d will get a lot better. He was a very good pass rusher, but had trouble holding the line.
