  1. With the videos of Allen and Edmunds coming out today I doubt that happens.
  2. I expect Buffalo extends Edmunds in camp similar to the timing they did Allen last year.
  3. I feel this topic has been beat to death but here's my honest answers on the situation: What happened to Tremaine? Nothing really, he's just been a woefully average player that rarely makes any game changing/impact type of plays. Why hasn't he really held up to his first round grade? For the above reasons, there's not really any difference between him and most run of the mill LB's drafted in the mid rounds. Remember Milano was a 5th round pick and is arguably the better player and showed early in his career unlike Edmunds who apparently still gets a pass by some because of how young he is. Can he rebound? What are the chances? Will money motivate him as he finishes up his current contract? Still think he's not a fit for this scheme/defense and his best chances to reach whatever potential he may have is on another team, specifically in a 3-4 scheme. Any insights on what Beane and the Bills brass think about Tremaine and his future in Buffalo? I believe behind closed doors they realize this is his last season in Buffalo assuming he's not traded before or during the 2022 campaign. Could Tremaine be used as trade bait on draft day? Or before? Obviously This draft is fairly deep in LB talent, even on day 3. Should we move on or put our faith in Tremaine? Definitely move on even if Edmunds has a 'career year' knowing it's a contract season. I wouldn't be surprised if we draft his replacement this year either in the top 3 rounds, at the end of the day you can't sign everyone anyway and LB is one of the easier positions to replace in terms of draft/FA.
  4. The struggles vs the run stemmed from the defensive line more so than the linebackers. I did some breakdowns during the season which highlighted a lot of this. The change of guard on the defensive line this offseason did not happen by accident. Just wanting to clarify - us running nickel does not make Edmunds a two gapper.
  5. I expect this revamped D-Line to prevent guards from getting to the second level, allowing Edmunds some more clean looks at his gaps in the run game. He is already an amazing coverage LB in this system. Buffalo has lacked a true 1 tech at DT and with the failed experiment of Star, Edmunds has under performed against the run. We also run a ton of nickel, meaning Edmunds is asked to cover multiple gaps in the run game. But to sum it up, I say we let Edmunds play out this season and if all goes according to plan he should be in for a big year. We'll decide on next year after we win the SUPER BOWL this year.
  6. Both are listed at 6’5”, but Edmunds is clearly taller than Josh in both pics.
  7. It’s a good topic, people just love to talk *****. Not just here, society in general. I’m an Edmunds defender, but I can also understand the haters who want more from him. He’s not “elite” at any on thing on the field. He doesn’t get sacks, he doesn’t get interceptions, and can’t cover an above average TE. I’d like to move him to OLB, draft another MLB, and play more 3 LB sets
  8. Im on the other end, I hope some poor GM thinks he is worth a first round pick in a draft everyone is saying teams wanna trade back in . Edmunds for CMC straight up works for me too, rather make the money work for a RB than hold out hope that because he is so young he is someone gonna find instincts
  9. Given the emphasis they placed on the defensive line in free agency, I tend to think the Bills believed most of their defensive problems originated from that group rather than the linebackers. For the defense they play, I don't think it matters that much. They can be a middle half run defense, because their general approach is to jump out to a lead and force the opponent out of the running game anyway. Even the base defense they play...a 4-2-5...is geared toward stopping the opposing passing game. To that end, I think they're mostly satisfied with Edmunds being above average in coverage and ok at best against the run. He does what they need him to do and whether they retain him after this season is probably more about his cap impact than his level of play.
  10. Lbs are the rbs of the defense for the most part. You can get one on day two who is starter material if you need one. Unless Edmunds is part of a trade, he will play out his fifth year contract. He will probably play better with the revamped DT room. How much better will determine his future in Buffalo, but most likely this is his last year, imo. No need to address the position with urgency this year. The top of the draft is likely cb, wr, ol, possibly rb.
  11. There's just not enough Edmunds talk on this board. Thanks OP.
  12. I am sure there are some Edmunds specific thread out there. But the reason people are being sarcastic here is that Edmunds is by far most discussed subject on these forum for the last two years. So you starting a thread "Let's talk about Edmunds" is sort of funny. If you are really not trolling and feel disrespected the only advice I can give you is don't start a thread on forums until you familiarize yourself with said forums first. EDIT: My take on the topic: Edmunds is not as bad as some posters here are claiming him to be, but he is certainly not a lock to get a longterm contracts. I see 3 options: 1. He gets traded during draft and we draft his replacement. I think this is unlikely since I am not sure McD want to rely on a rookie in an "Allin" year. 2. He plays 2022 on his option and is traded then (for a much lower value). Downside of this approach is that we get next to nothing for him. 3. He gets an extension. I doubt this will happen this offseason. Despite what many are saying, I think McD see his flaws and are not sold on him. And what is more important, we just can't pay everybody. So they will wait and make sure he is worth it.
  13. Please use the search bar on the top right corner of the message board. There are maybe ten thousand topics on this. The difference is they add some content other than just "lets talk about Tremaine Edmunds." Pick one of those and just reply to the thousand page thread.
  14. Wouldn't it be funny if a Tremaine Edmunds thread turned into a thread about everything else!
  15. Just messing with you...tough crowd here. Edmunds has been a hot topic all season and entire offseason.
  16. If I missed an Edmunds thread, then mods please merge. I didn't see anything here, but only rejoined this group maybe 3 weeks ago. We are getting closer and closer to the draft, and RESPECTFULLY was asking the knowledgeable fans a few questions. smh...
  17. Honestly, two guys we have been overlooking are Tremaine Edmunds and Breece Hall. I feel like we need to debate those guys more, we are clearly slacking.
  18. Yeah I've been wondering why we haven't. Time for a respectful chat! Personally, I say "he's a Bill", so we have to hope he steps it up and plays to his potential. But I think that Beane knows best of course, and Edmunds has a value according to the team. Will he be traded? Given an ultimatum? Surely he wants a big paycheque, so he has to EARN that.
  19. To be fair, we haven't talked about Edmunds the entire offseason
  20. Linebacker is a need. But just how BIG of a need remains to be seen and I am guessing that most would agree that Tremaine is at the center of that discussion. So? A few questions from me to you. What happened to Tremaine? Why hasn't he really held up to his first round grade? Can he rebound? What are the chances? Will money motivate him as he finishes up his current contract? Any insights on what Beane and the Bills brass think about Tremaine and his future in Buffalo? Could Tremaine be used as trade bait on draft day? Or before? This draft is fairly deep in LB talent, even on day 3. Should we move on or put our faith in Tremaine?
  21. Where would this team be without Matt Milano and Taron Johnson on defense? What about Siran Neal or Bass on ST? All of them were 2nd day picks. It's nice to think that all that matters are your top guys but a team is more than that. It's why you sign Trubisky last year and trade for Keenum this season. It's why Tawain Jones keeps getting brought back. It's going to be more important when Poyer, Edmunds and Gabe Davis and McKenzie and maybe Knox are off it. Going all in when you have a QB about to hit his prime will middle you out when your franchise player could be at his best not wise if ask me. While I'm all for taking a CB in Round 1 since helps the starting 22 and overall depth is much wiser than risking picks for a one year wonder injured WR.
  22. We've been waiting for Edmunds to step it up for 4 years. Granted that's an over statement. However, it's pretty clear what Edmunds is. It's not like he's in year one or two. I doubt he plays much different than what we've seen. He's average and clearly not a game changer.
  23. Trade: 2023 1st 2022 4th Edmunds, Epenesa, Hodgins, Moss To NYG For 7th overall Trade: 25th, 2023 4th, 2022 6th To SEA for 40th, 41st 7. WR Jameson Williams🐘 40. RB Breece Hall🌪️ 41. CB Andrew Booth🐅 57. LB Troy Andersen🐆 89. TE Jelani Woods⚔️
