  1. I think we are pretty much done in FA other than a stopgap veteran DB sometime between post draft and training camp. If for some reason Edmunds is used in a trade tomorrow then LB also becomes a FA need especially since more cap room would become immediately available.
  2. Again, don't be shocked if he's a former Buffalo Bill after tomorrow night. Makes too much sense especially if there is any real steam behind the rumors that the Bills want to trade up into the top 10. Edmunds may be the perfect asset to help facilitate that type of trade especially since he does have perceived value compared to some of the other names people keep throwing around as trade pieces (epenesa, ford, etc).
  3. If Daboll/Schoen like Edmunds, I feel like a trade involving a swap of picks and Edmunds for Bradberry just makes so much sense. They have picks 7 and 36... either of which could be spots we'd very much like to have. Unless Beane has some voodoo magic to re-sign Edmunds and Knox, it looks to everyone that Edmunds may be on a 1 year deal and then he either walks because we don't care to sign him or can't afford to sign him. Why not send him to the Giants, if they view him as a centerpiece of that Defense.. They lock him up long term and we get a 1 year rental out of Bradberry to bolster the secondary and provide insurance for Tre White taking time to come back full strength.
  4. I gotta say all this back and forth banter about an announcer’s yearly comp still beats what we’re supposed to do about Tre Edmunds, amirite?
  5. FINAL MOCK: Locked in. . No trades in this version. Disappointed in how WR fell in this draft, but I took the BPA approach. Top 3 rounds addressed the CB hole, potential Safety hole (if Poyer decides that he needs an extension before he plays), and gives competition to Tremaine Edmunds to either step up or step aside. Wasn't planning on an OT but Deisch was a great value in the 4th round. Added depth to interior OL, RB, DL, and also took a flier on Leo Chenal's teammate LB Sanborn. HOPEFUL UDFAs: CB Derion Kendrick - Georgia TE Jake Ferguson - Wisconsin S Brad Hawkins - Michigan TE/RB/KR Connor Heyward - Mich State WR Dontario Drummond - Ole Miss WR Jalen Nailor - Mich State CB Vincent Gray - Michigan OG Ben Brown - Ole Miss TE Cole Turner - Nevada
  6. Beane has had 2 drafts where he had a 1st round pick and they were able to do visits. All 3 picks - Allen, Edmunds, Oliver - visited. You only get 30 and as the draft moves along a lot of guys who visited are going to come off the board, there are runs on positions, trades, etc and guys who visited are unavailable to be drafted, so it is truly only meaningful that they visited and had the team medical check (most important part of the visit) in the 1st round imo the interesting thing about Breece Hall’s visit is that he also visited the giants. There is almost no chance they take a RB in the 1st or early second. I think shoen is doing Beane a favor with his input.
  7. They met with Zach Moss via zoom as well and had a visit with vosean Joseph. Regardless, it’s most meaningful for 1st round because you don’t know who will even be available past that, to align with the small sample size of visits that you can actually draft. zoom meetings were not the same meaning or investment as visits where you can do individual workouts and team medical checks. Beane only had 3 1st round picks he could make so far where visits were allowed and they all visited - Allen, Edmunds, Oliver.
  8. If I had to make a prediction, I think the Bills go O-Line (Guard) or Safety in Round 1. Almost everyone wants a cornerback on the first day. Me too. But unfortunately, the best value is most likely going to be somewhere else when we pick. The two top guys in this draft (Derek Stingley and Sauce Gardner) will be long gone by Pick #25. I think both guys are likely Top 10, and trading up more than a couple picks is going to be way too expensive. No way Beane flips a future 1st Rounder just to move up for a CB. I wouldn't be surprised if Trent McDuffie also goes Top 15, which would also put him out of reach. Andrew Booth Jr. depends on the medical red flags. If other teams fail him for the hernia issues, it's very likely we will too. After those top four guys, the value drops and we are looking mostly at Day 2 guys (Kaiir Elam, Roger McCreary and Kyler Gordon). Maybe we reach for position, but that doesn't seem like Beane either. I keep hearing about Breece Hall being connected to the Bills. That should be the main reason to reject that idea, because this organization does not let information like that slip. It's a smokescreen, just like Travis Etienne last year. There aren't any running backs worth a 1st Round Pick this year. Same thing with tight ends. The top wide receivers (Garrett Wilson, Jameson Williams, Drake London, Chris Olave) are probably gone at #25. I can't see Treylon Burks being the style of WR we are looking for. We don't really need another Edge Rusher, Defensive Tackle or Offensive Tackle. The top linebackers (Devin Lloyd, Nakobi Dean) are both outside guys. So even if we are looking for a replacement for Tremaine Edmunds, neither of those guys really fit the mold. I've done many mock drafts, which are surprisingly accurate when it comes to predicting the positions/players that will be available. The value picks that keep coming up (which I could see being realistic for us) are guards Kenyon Green or Zion Johnson, or safety Daxton Hill. All of those guys are considered solid 1st Round prospects, and all would fit future needs. Don't forget that Beane said "protecting Josh Allen" was his top priority this offseason. He only attacked the O-Line with one-year deals, which means that position will be a need again next year. On the safety side, I think we are (unfortunately) watching Jordan Poyer's last season in Buffalo. We can't pay everyone, and I think he's the odd man out.
  9. I think we come out of this draft with our CB2, a MLB that is to be groomed as Edmunds' potential replacement, and a S that will be groomed as Poyer's replacement.
  10. I have absolutely no idea what the Bills are going to do this year. I also have no idea what any other teams are going to do. This is the most unpredictable draft that I can remember. While CB is most likely for the Bills, any of CB, Safety, RB, WR or LB could be the pick, depending on a) how the board falls, and b) the Bills' future plans with current players such as Poyer, Edmunds, and Singletary.
  11. Any thoughts on Edmunds though? [LOL-sry had to hahaha]
  12. Ummm...so this must be a disguised Edmunds-should-be-moved-to-EDGE post, then? Because that's where Ojabo plays. OBVIOUSLY.
  13. Yep , my error! I was up all night as some one hacked my email and also was in my Amazon account which got shut down! Pretty stressful. A hacker was literally buying things while I was on the phone with Amazon reps ! They couldn’t stop it and froze my account until I got my email secured at 7 am today! So I admit , I forgot about edmunds 5 th year! I apologize. I was thinking more about contract extensions, thanks for correcting me! I do believe tho edmunds is overrated and time will tell this year. I do think there is a difference tho as I think Oliver was a certain to be picked up but delayed until they had cap space. Not sure edumunds situation is more than one more hedge to evaluate long term viability and I think Oliver , who is more impactful will get a second contract. Not sure edmunds will. Imo, easier to replace a LB , than a DT who can rush. I was just thinking if Edmunds was living up to expectations , it might have made more sense to extend ( like Josh , if he is the def “qb”)rather than ride the fence , as his price might only go up if he somehow finally evolves to be that guy. They have drafted well, and they can’t pay everyone. I think another similar year and they could easily replace him as his ceiling may have been reached and a guy with a high floor might be just as good rather than continuing to wait to see if he can raise his ceiling. Thanks for the kind correction , I was def in error. My main thought was its a prove year for edmunds ; Beane stated they always intended to do Oliver which seemed more definitive he will be here long term. Not so sure about Tremain unless it reallY comes together this year. Best wishes! Sorry for the error.
  14. Dude, you’re kidding right? There have been like 20 threads and parts of threads on him. Go do the search button. Type in. edmunds and you’re going to feel silly as this exact topic has been talked to death, been on WGR, NFLR, NFLN, etc.
  15. I'm gonna write a song. "We don't talk about Edmunds, No no no We don't talk about Edmunds But...." If only there was a catchy tune I could write it to
  16. What if the Bills believe Dodson can start and do a solid job there? Dodson has been here a few years and is still only 23 Edmunds would have serious value in a trade up
  17. I think Edmunds, Epenesa, Moss, and Poyer could be considered in a trade for picks. It would suck to lose Poyer, but extending a 31 year old db to a big money long-term deal probably isn't wise.
  18. That assumes he has better stats than 95% of the NFL running backs because that is where Singletary was. You also rush Hall versus Allen - you are going to average 3-4 yards less per carry than Allen was doing. I get the idea - it just has proven to be false for the most part in the NFL since the 2000’s. The top RBs in the league don’t win championships. People complain about Edmunds (a 2x pro bowler) drafted in the first, but think that a RB is the missing piece on the top offense in the NFL.
  19. Here’s why I loathe keeping Edmunds this year.. and most of it isn’t necessarily about him as a player. 1). He doesn’t live up to what we expect. We don’t sign him. He walks. We get nothing. 2). He balls out behind a high potential DL. We want to sign him long term. Can’t afford his top tier LB contract demands. I don’t necessarily see any long term Bills/Edmunds pairing that makes sense after this year. IMO, he’s not the difference between us winning a Super Bowl or not. If he’s not. Move him for assets, or to strengthen another position this year.
  20. Good move. He’s going to have a good season, and inadvertently so will Edmunds. .
  21. This post is all sorts of wrong. They already picked up Edmunds 5th year option last year. He is playing on that now!!! So basically your entire first paragraph is wrong. If it is telling that they haven’t picked up his option, but they have picked it up - does that make it equally telling they like him? What pray tell does it tell us now that you have learned the option was exercised - just like Oliver’s. The 2nd paragraph also holds little water as the Bills FO have moved on from various draft picks as needed if they are not up to speed - the problem is they have drafted very well (best in the league by several metrics) and therefore have not had to move on from many picks.
  22. Pretty telling they picked up Oliver’s 5 th year tenure but not Edmunds yet. It’s this year or he’s gone of maybe they control him with tags. But his is not an obvious. priority as his talent doesn’t meet the eye test. Guys like podcaster Miller and Spence king who are quite arrogant if you critique Edmunds as they verbally belittle those who disagree with them that he is a legit star need to begin to get a ltiioe crow ready to eat. If he was the star / playmaker they espouse, why has his option not been exercised while every else but poyer has been extended? I am neutral , ok if he sticks , but I truly believe he could be replaced easily with little drop off and we could probably do better. They hold on because of the draft capital they spent. Poyer in much more impactful , only question is age but his play has only improved, and that’s why we did ok with the last year and had a 7; th round cb pick starting on a #1 D. Let me know the next time edmunds makes more then 2-3 impactful plays in a Game or even the season. It’s obvious the staff is giving him this year to prove things. Oir d runs well based on saftey play and Frazier has said as much. We have a good lb with Milano and edmunds is replaceable.
  23. I think he has off the ball LB potential with his athleticism at the next level too though. And with how we use Edmunds he could slide into there until they brought in a more traditional MLB.
  24. Edmunds? I think he’d be more of a 3rd pass rusher behind Miller and Rousseau until Miller moves on. He’d then take over as our best rusher
  25. Yeah I wouldn’t hate it, no rush for him to get on the field either and with his athleticism would be a great Edmunds replacement if we don’t resign him
