  1. Fear not they also added kadarious Toney yesterday. Seriously is there a limitation on how many brain cells are allowed in Berea Ohio at any given time?
  2. Because the more esteemed writers on the board have better things to do you’re stuck with this schmuck! It’s slightly delayed and on a short week, let’s double up the Ripoff Report! First off, I have a PSA. A great many out of town fans have expressed discontent with how the NFL has been handling Sunday Ticket and I am one of them. $480 to watch 1 and 4 PM games when not on local networks is a bigger ripoff than this article series. However, with my personal life going crazy with a second child arriving just before season start, I decided to get NFL+ Premium, mostly expecting to watch games I missed. However, I learned that it also comes with RedZone and allows me to listen to the radio broadcast that gets cut on the official streams during the broadcast. Set up with the Buffalo Bills Radio Network, Chris Brown and Eric Wood were much more interesting and informative than most broadcasts. For example, Wood pointed out how the cards were using 13 personnel and why and the adjustments that Babich made during halftime (more on that later). Not listening to Collingsworth will be worth the price alone, and other than getting spoiled slightly in advance by RedZone it meant that I got to watch the critical plays close to live. Plus, the subscription lasts a year meaning I can watch games in the doldrums instead of 18 Sundays a year. In the week before the Cardinals game I expressed nervousness. Yes, the Bills were the superior team and the Cardinals were flying across the country for a home opener. But the starters had spent so little time together in preseason would everything mesh. Well, that fear looked to be justified. You could definitely see that all of the cylinders weren’t firing in time. That the team managed to win anyway is a testament to the talent on the roster, especially Josh Allen. I mean, how I can start anywhere without Allen. I know I love to rag on “the media” for diminishing him and the “overrated” comments sting but…I mean, come on. I am hearing talking heads spout about a fumble on a blindside hit while ignoring that Allen has FOUR TIMES as many touchdowns week one to the same number of turnovers as Mahomes and Lamar. More than Stroud. And the scary thing is, I don’t think that was Josh at his best. We have been hearing Everybody Eats as the mantra and, at least for Week One, the Bills lived up to it. NINE players had receptions and that is a statement in and of itself. But to get more granular The throw to Mack Hollins was perfect. I do not think that ball can be better thrown or placed. That is all. As much as I would have loved Coleman to have a massive TD game, what I saw was pretty darn impressive. He was the best rookie WR on the field, and the other option was the #4 overall pick. Now, there is a big difference in the QB getting him the ball and the secondary coverage, but despite the splash that Worthy made, Coleman had the 2nd most receiving yards of any rookie WR. NOT counted on those numbers were two EGREGIOUS penalties that he drew and unlike Worthy, these weren’t manufactured touches, it was just beating his man. But speaking of manufactured touches… Shakir needs more of them. That little tunnel screen shows what happens when you purposefully make him part of the attack if he isn’t getting open on his own. Jesus, he looks like a Madden player with those jukes. He was shrugging off Defensive Lineman hits before rolling over a guy to sneak in a TD. A quiet day for Kincaid, but some of the All 22 breakdowns I’ve seen show why: he is the new Diggs, the focal point that teams make a point to take away. Only unlike Diggs, he’s on a rookie contract. Jokes aside, the strength of the Cardinals D is their LB and Safety play, so it was a bad matchup, but as much as Josh’s other weapons are unsexy picks, so far it seems to be working. For some reason, Jeremy White is unhappy with the amount of running the ball that the Bills did and for the life of me I don’t get it. I might understand if it didn’t work or if the Cardinals had a reputation as a stout run defense team but the forecase on the Cards was a strength in LB and S play and a weaker DL and the Bills racked up 130 rushing yards. That’s…kind of what you do, and if committing to the heavier sets means that you forcing their LBs to play against the run that’s how you make life easier for Allen’s receivers. Cooks hasn’t lost a beat and Ray Davis looks like an excellent change of pace back. Now for the Defense. Oh, the Defense.I think it goes without saying that what we all saw in the first half was subpar. It is not excusable but at the same time it is not inexplicable. There are more things to glean from it than “Bills Defense Bad”. Every defensive scheme has a weakness. That is a reality. 3-4 relies more on gap coverage more than penetration. Press Man is good for disrupting speedy players and timing routes, but leaves you susceptible to big gains if you ever get beat. This is mostly preaching to the choir but McDermott’s scheme in his tenure with the Bills has mainly been a 4-2-5 nickel based Zone Defense, using speedy players and disguised coverage to disrupt and limit passing plays. It is designed to counter the pass crazy spread offenses that dominated the league in recent history and overall it’s (statistically) worked well but it comes with weaknesses Bills fans have become familiar with: the lighter bodies make it weaker vs the run. As much as you disguise a zone coverage, there is always a place on the field that is uncovered and that is often in the middle of the field. As such, the Bills often have given big days to RBs and TEs. Cover One did a film breakdown in advance and pointed out that the Cardinals have built themselves into what is slowly emerging as the pendulum swinging back: NFL defenses have moved to Cover 2 shells with lighter bodies, like the Bills. The Niners, Lions, and Rams (among others) are moving back to run heavy, condensed formations and it’s the direction Brady has been moving as well. The Cardinals take this to an extreme, rolling our 3 TE formations. Milano and Bernard are maybe two of the best coverage linebackers in the league when healthy, but even then the Cardinals are designed to beat up defenses like the Bills. Now, this is not a free pass. If we as fans knew this, Babich and McDermott had to know it too. Looking now, I think they were hoping that running out TJ would have made up the difference but even before his injury the Cardinals seemed to have a counter for everything. That said, I have to give credit to Babich and McDermott. At halftime they acknowledged that what they were doing wasn’t working and changed things up. In the first half, Babich tried to contain Murray in the pocket and hoped coverage would hold. When it didn’t, he started blitzing more aggressively and the D-line focused on trying to make contact instead of contain. Murray got his scrambles, but hits kept piling up which threw off his timing and led to sacks and turnovers. The defense didn’t suddenly start playing harder in the second half as much as they positioned their efforts better. Do you want to give the coaches grief for not being better prepared? Go ahead. But many coaches would rather bury their heads in the hand than change. Speaking of TJ, Rapp is a liability and should not be on this team. I understand that we are in dire straights at the position but the injuries he racks up are a problem. Groot is going to get All Of the Money. If he keeps have multiple sack games, vaya con dios! God help me, I actually like the dynamic kickoff rules. Yes they are gimmicky but I can’t deny that kickoffs actually had an effect on the game and is better than the “kick the ball through the endzone” challenge that kickoffs had become. There is actual strategy to wind direction and squibbing it and how to pin a team. Moving onto the Dolphins, yes they are a better team than the Cardinals but I am not as worried. For one, they looked awfully shaky vs the Jaguars in the brief snippets I saw. I don’t know how much of their victory was them being good and how much was the Jaguars collapsing as they are wont to do. On the same vein as the Cardinals offense being the natural enemy of the Bills defense is that McDermott’s scheme is what is supposed to stop the shallow crosser motion heavy offense McDaniel brought with him. I don’t think it’s an accident that the Bills are 3-1 against him, with the lone loss coming in a heatstroke filled highly fluky game that was an Isaiah McKenzie-getting-out-of-bounds away from a likely Bills victory. I am keeping a close eye on Achane and Mostert’s injury status. If they are severely banged up, even if they play it would help the Bills stay in Dime to counter Hill and Waddle. I won’t say the Bills victory is inevitable. They can very much lose on Thursday. I am just surprised that the odds are so in the Dolphins favor but I appreciate the underdog. See you all on Thursday. Go Bills!
  3. That sound you're hearing is the goalposts being moved after the impetus behind this thread was found to be false. Redditor dragged into migrant pet-eating fears thanks to photo of man with a goose lashes out at JD Vance "An Ohio-based Reddit user who recently photographed a Black man holding a goose is desperately pushing back on claims being spread by the country’s biggest conservatives. On the morning of Sunday, July 28, the redditor isitmeyourelooking4x came across an individual holding what appeared to be a dead goose near the corner of Cleveland Avenue and Taymouth Road in the city of Columbus. A member of the r/Columbus subreddit, isitmeyourelooking4x shared the photo to the group’s more than 200,000 users that same day, totally unaware that the image would later become central to misinformation regarding Ohio’s Haitian community. *** But all the claims have since fallen apart. The woman accused of eating the cat is not Haitian and was born in the U.S. She was also arrested in the city of Canton, which is roughly 172 miles away from Springfield. Police in Springfield also released a statement regarding the Facebook post, noting that there “have been no credible reports or specific claims of pets being harmed, injured, or abused by individuals within the immigrant community.” As previously stated, the picture taken by isitmeyourelooking4x was captured not in Springfield but in Columbus, nearly 50 miles away. The Haitians in Springfield were also granted temporary protected status, meaning they are not in the country illegally. Even with every claim lacking evidence or being outright debunked, Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio), former President Donald Trump’s running mate, continued to fan the flames by citing rumors from his constituents. *** In remarks to the Daily Dot, isitmeyourelooking4x, who declined to provide their real name over harassment concerns, expressed anger at his senator for adding fuel to the fire. “I think it’s awful that right-wingers including Ohio’s Republican senator will take a random picture from the internet and use it as a weapon to further their agenda,” the redditor said. “The garbage they are spreading has been completely debunked, yet they continue to spread it.” The redditor also noted that there’s no evidence whatsoever tying the man he photographed to Haiti, or evidence that he planned to eat the goose. Still, the rhetoric regarding Haitians in Springfield has only amplified and, at least for the moment, has become the primary talking point among conservatives ahead of the 2024 presidential election."
  4. But not everyone has that mindset. Many have the mindset of F the police. They will resist passively, assertively, and aggressively. Look at how Hill acted. He complied with providing his license and registration. He rolled down his window for this interaction. He told the police officer give me the ticket I'm late. All the while, he's bickering back and forth about the police banging on his window. Then he rolls up the window. Doesn't comply with the officers multiple requests. Then he opens the window slightly and the police officers look into his vehicle and continue their demands. Do you consider Hill's opening up the window as a sign of compliance? Could the officers adequately see in the vehicle? Could they have asked him to roll down the window more? Why did the officer say we aren't playing these games? Is that a mindset statement of an officer fearing for his safety? Or is more of a pissed off officer getting ready to give Hill a lesson on the law? This whole situation went bad quickly and it really they didn't have to. Just my observation. I wasn't there and I can't speak for the officers perception. The police officers definitely kicked up the situation to another notch. I just don't see where the officers safety was in jeopardy. Most criminals don't assault and shoot you after they give you their id. I believe the police could have walked away from Hill and the vehicle once they received his license and registration. There was little reason for the police to hang around his car once the docs were produced. In fact, it's poor police conduct because they are putting themselves in a more dangerous situation. The police wanted a confrontation. Thus, they created one . Motorist very often close their windows once the give the police the required info and the cop walks to his car. Especially on the east Coast in the winter time. Hill didn't violate any laws by rolling up his window. The officer made a conscious choice to engage with Hill in a negative manner. He wasn't going to swallow any of Hill's disrespect. Instead, he was going to do the opposite. He was going to show him some respect. I guess some approve like this avenue of policing. It has it's place but not in this incident. Show his power by demanding his window down. Macho man sort of speak. This was a mistake in judgement. Police interactions have to be better than this. Police interactions should be better than this. Hill contributed to the incident! However, so did the police!!! This was police 101 and they failed miserable.
  5. So in my lifetime I've had a few incidents that I could have (should have) been arrested over. There was even one that I could have been killed by police (10 cops, guns drawn), and they would have been justified in doing so. It would have been a tragic mistake, but they wouldnt have been legally wrong. I not only survived all of them, but have never been arrested in any of them. The main reason being, my desire to stay out of jail is larger than my sense of entitlement/ego (unlike Hill). So whenever I did have contact with the police in those situations, the first and only thing out of my mouth was "I'm sorry officer, I'm an idiot. I'm just stupid. I'm sorry. Sure, whatever you say. Yes, sir. Yep, I'm an idiot." And in doing so across ALL situations I was let go with just warnings. It may have looked wimpy in the moment, but I at least got the last laugh like "I cant believe they let me go" as I'm pulling away a free man, and the officers were able to not fear for their lives and act accordingly. It wasnt difficult to comply in those situations. Just roll your frickin window down. Prove your point another day.
  6. Fear before the fact. Like: "I better not drive like an idiot or I will get my ass kicked. Worse, I might kill someone." According to Tyreek, his uncle taught him to listen... He wasn’t listening. His uncle must be a bad teacher.
  7. Fear induces a fight-or-flight response, which demonstrably and provably does not improve people's abilities to make safe, reasoned decisions for the benefit of others. It does the opposite. It is... interesting to hear the perspective that we need to fear armed agents of the state for our own good.
  8. And it ain't working. People still need a little fear in their lives to keep us all safe. Society can't be totally devoid of thar fear... We lose mindfulness. I place it 180° opposite. Only Hill had the ability to de-escalate the situation. If one doesn't comply, everyone on plant knows they will be forced to comply. Forcing someone to comply IS their job when the person won't comply. How more simple can we make this?
  9. No I wouldn't. Nice try. But if they did this because they feared that he had a gun, wouldn't it make sense to look for a gun? And I'm not complaining, just stating the obvious. Keep trying, you made some reasonable points earlier, this isn't one of them. Yeah, and no cop has ever abused his power.
  10. Jets defense may not be as fearful as the press would have you think.
  11. I fear that, if they haven’t already, teams/QBs will be perfecting the ‘instant slide’ in desperation situations in an attempt to get a gift 15 yards and first down. IMO, the rule needs to be revised to give officials some leeway if they believe the defender’s momentum was already going towards the QB before the QB committed to the slide, and the defender made an effort to avoid direct contact. Also, it should be a reviewable call.
  12. How many locks do you have on your door? I ask only because everything you post seems to be fear based why are you so afraid what happened to you?
  13. I fear this is a real possibility. Not sold on our defense.
  14. That’s my concern. As I’ve had more time to process this game, I think Brady actually called a good game. We put up over thirty points, and took care of business in week one. My fear is this style of play becoming who we always are. That’s what the second half of last season looked like. The day will come against better opponents where the passing game will need to take over completely. Josh Allen beat the KC Chiefs in one of those games had the infamous 13 seconds not taken place. I worry we’ll will never see that type of game with this offensive strategy.
  15. He's a physically aggressive WR all over the field who plays with zero fear. He is going to be an asset for this team on multiple levels.
  16. Hopeful Josh’s hand is just a deep bruise. Fearful Taron has a fractured/broken bone.
  17. the way he landed makes me fear a cracked bone in that hand.
  18. Good drive. It's interesting. On the one hand I really like Brady's methodological approach. But I fear we might also become quite predictable and easy to read on O as the season develops.
  19. This defense is not good. They are getting pushed off the line, there is no pass rush, they are losing contain, and the safeties have not been good. All the stuff we feared could happen to make the defense worse, to this point, has happened. Obviously, the refs have been terrible which hasn't helped either. On offense, it's been a mixed bag. Cook has looked great. The line is blocking well. We have moved the ball, but self inflicted wounds have taken a bunch of points off the board. Allen should have gotten rid of the ball on the fumble, but he should also have a TD on the board. But, quite honestly, it seems like we haven't had the ball long enough to really make too many determinations about how things are going. There's plenty of football left to turn this around, but man, we need to start doing that now.
  20. Not gonna make any sweeping judgments yet but if this is what we're in for this year is there any chance McDermott and Beane lose their jobs? Are they safe literally no matter what? That's my fear.
  21. Yikes. Not the start Josh Allen needed. Not sure why he didn’t hit Samuel there. Fear of the open CB near him?
  22. Drama. The idiots said the same thing when he had them for 4 years and nothing happened. Its reasonable to assume a similar situation. They even claimed he sold nuclear secrets. Another unsupported lie. Pity they have to use so much fear and constant misrepresentations and can't run on the issues as the current administration's record is a disaster they avoid mentioning.
  23. I fear for our county, I mean “whatever”.
