  1. Don’t worry, Can’… err, uhhh… Nate Hackett is on it.
  2. Seldom have I ever hated a draft prospect as much as I hated Ifedi. He's in that Kevin Hogan/Nate Peterman rarified air. I still fondly remember the memes with him having pillows for hands.
  3. There was a time where guys like Refrigerator Perry, Ted Washington, Sam Adams, Pat Williams, Gilbert Brown, Nate Newton etc populated the NFL. All were great athletes in their own right but also just massive and not necessarily sporting an optimal muscle to fat ratio. It seems like you see fewer of those types of players these days. The big guys nowadays seem more like the guys you mentioned along with Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis, Donkey Kong, etc.
  4. Well, I am going to reserve judgment, but Nate Geary of WGR doesn't like this pick: And, of course...no surprise here:
  5. No best WR in the nfl type? Wilson is a stud. I certainly hope that you’re right. We have one saving grace imo….. Nate HACKett calling the shots on O. Beautiful
  6. Went in 2001, the year Vick went first overall and we traded back and took Nate Clements. No tickets were distributed so hand to stand in long line to get in. Was pretty boring. Before smart phones, it was way better to be watching it on TV in your living room. And most of the people there were just dressed up to get on TV and had no idea that the Chargers traded the #1 pick the night before. Was a weird scene. I assume it is way better now.
  7. Wgr is covering it. Not sure you’ll wanna listen though cause Nate Geary is on it
  8. Remember last off season when the Broncos traded for Russ Wilson? All the pundits getting all whirled up thinking that the Denver Broncos were poised to take down the KC Chiefs in the AFC West? The though process was solid. -Wilson is a top end QB -Man, the Broncos have some WEAPONS with Sutton, Jeudy and a good young RB in Williams -Solid Defense See anything eerily similar about AR to the Jets? I sure do. One thing that is consistent between the 2...A LARGE reason the Denver season imploded was the complete ineptitude their offense showed between their aging QB and their playcalling. Who is calling the plays for the Jests this year? Yes, the same Nate Hackett that oversaw that horrible Bronco offense. And yes, Hackett was "the OC for Rodgers" in Green Bay...but he was not the one making the calls on offense. Game still has to be played on the field, of course. But there are just as many reasons to speculate that the Jests will implode under the pressure as they will contend for the division. If they start out slow that media will turn on Rodgers with the speed of a Don Beebe running down Leon Lett.
  9. Agreed on most of this. I dont find Sal that condescending as much as I sympathize that he has to deal with WGR Callers for a living, and they deserve whatever they get from the hosts. I'll give Joe and Nate some wiggle room. They are both VERY young, and new in their broadcast careers, so a lot of growing and improving left. I think we'll see them become pretty decent over the years.
  10. WGR is garbage imo Jeremy was much better before being teamed up with Joe Sal is terrific but can be a bit condescending without ever realizing and catching himself Chris Brown I thought was one of the best talents before becoming full time and I had consistently wished for him to be full time, and be careful what you wish for I suppose Steve Tasker doesn’t belong anywhere that he needs to use his words Bulldog is meh. Not necessarily bad but definitely doesn’t offer much value. I used to HATE Schopp and thought he was insufferable with constant pessimism, but since the Bills have became a good team I think he’s a legitimate talent and honestly the best person on WGR. The whole gambling talk is annoying, in regards of people complaining. It’s the way sports are trending, and honestly gambling in general is a very strong look at what consensus on sports are. Betting odds tell a lot of a story. TL;DR, Despite all having their downfalls, Jeremy, Sal & Schopp aren’t terrible. They’re actually pretty good. The rest of WGR, especially Joe DiBiase and Nate Geary are blah. Nothing against these guys personally, just always been a pet peeve of mine. The greater population of Buffalo looks to this station for their sports talk and you just can’t often tune in and hear anything knowledgeable or any sort of valuable insight. They’re all better fit for podcasts imo, it’s annoying to me that a radio station doesn’t employ better quality talents.
  11. Should we eliminate Benton since we picked him last time? I maybe add Luke Musgrave, Jaquelin Roy, Gervon Dexter, Zach Pickens edges Tuli Tuipulotu and Byron Young Also feels early for Nate Dell, but they have shown a lot of interest for what it's worth.
  12. It's Donahoe, not Donahue and his first draft was awesome 2001 RD 1. Nate Clements RD 2. Aaron Schobel RD 2. Travis Henry Were his first 3 draft picks. It went downhill after that though
  13. I was curious in looking at ways to compare the last 3 relevant GM's we had as far as draft results. I used AV as others have in the past. Not by any stretch perfect but decent = https://www.pro-football-reference.com/about/approximate_value.htm My initial thought prior to doing this was Beane, outside of Allen, has drafted about as well as Donahoe and that Whaley was awful. In large part that appears to be the case. Below is years 4 and 5 for each of these GM's. I wanted to look at those years as I wanted to see the impact of several years worth of shaping a roster. It is also the cut off we have on both Beane and Donahoe while just missing Whaley (although for this study I think 2017 qualifies as a 5th year). -For Beane this includes drafts from 2018-2022 / 2021-2022 -For Whaley this includes drafts from 2013-2017 (I assigned the 2017 class to Whaley for this exercise) / 2016-2017 -For Donahoe that includes drafts from 2001-2005 / 2004-2005 I looked at the last two years for each GM which are in bold above. I looked at how many picks remained on the team that they drafted. Then what the sum of the "AV" of those picks was, then what the AVG "AV" value of those picks was. These are the results: If you subtract Allen from Beane, he goes to a AV total of 97 and 86, with an average of 3.88 and 3.90. So again, very TD like, which some might think is an insult but it's not intended to be. More just perspective. Whaley is obviously atrocious. You also see the impacts in 2017 of McD taking over the roster and purging his picks. Top 5 players drafted as far as AV is concerned: Beane= Allen, Singletary, Rousseau, Oliver, Edmunds Whaley= Preston Brown, Robert Woods, Tre White, John Miller, Dion Dawkins 😨 Donahoe= Nate Clements, Terrance McGee, Willis McGahee, Lee Evans, Aaron Schobel
  14. Jack Campbell Colonel Drew Sanders Lukas Van Ness Monster Michael Meyers Andrew Voorhees Cody Mauch Joe Tippman Nate Herbig Charlie Jones Jake Bobo Peter Skoronski Dalton Kincaid
  15. Brady had won 3 Super Bowl’s before the DB rule change occurred and before the league began to crack down on QB hits. Thats the most impressive part. Brady won SB’s in BOTH era’s. Remember when Nate Clements knocked Brady’s block off? One of the most savage QB hits in memory and Brady won the SB that same year.
  16. Yep, Can't Hackett didn't call the offensive plays in GB, LaFleur called them. There is a solid reason why Denver's offense was such a clusterfluck last year with Hackster as HC. However, it is very true that Rodgers does like Hackett. I really do hope that ole Nate does call the offensive plays for the Jets should Rodgers end up there...or not. Should be comical. Something tells me that he might end up in SF. I mean, where would you rather be the QB?
  17. And Hackett had zero to do with it. If Rodgers was that fond of Nate, he would've signed with the Jets already. Aaron wants total control of whatever offense he plays for.
  18. With the 48th pick in the 2023 TSW NFL Mock draft, the Detroit Lions select Dorian Thompson-Robinson, QB, UCLA. Jared Goff earned another year as our starter, but we’re ready to add a young QB to the mix (Nate Sudfield ain’t it)…DTR has NFL traits and was a five-year starter at UCLA…we had him ranked just below Stroud and Young. @GunnerBill and the Stillers are on the clock.
  19. With the 9th selection in 2023 Draft, the Chicago Bears select Paris Johnson, Jr., OT, Ohio State. I was debating Wilson, Johnson, Skoronski, and Jones..with Wilson gone it comes down the the three OL. I think Johnson is probably the best OL in the draft. Skoronski is awesome, but Johnson is a true left tackle will tremendous feet and 36 inch arms. He is still very young so there is a lot on the bone there. All reports are that he is a highly intelligent player and a great process guy. Drafting Johnson has a ripple effect on the OL, the biggest weak spot for the Bears. Johnson goes to LT, Braxton Jones moves to right, Teven Jenkins goes to LG and we signed Nate Davis to play RG. That leaves Patrick and Whitehair or a future draft pick to compete at center. @Virgil @Big Blitz and the Eagles are on the clock.
  20. The Bills win at least 3 SBs with Marino. Aaron Schobel is one of the most underrated Bills in history. Lee Evans would be Marvin Harrison with Josh Allen. I still believe in Sammy Watkins and CJ Spiller. EJ Manuel was ruined by Doug Marrone and Nate Hackett. we are going to miss Frazier and Edmunds more than some fans realize.
  21. Honestly probably not. But great point since clearly the bears have shown to be awesome in their qb scouting ability. How can we possibly question the decision making of the Chicago bears who have been bursting with franchise qbs over the years???? Excellent, excellent point. You can never question politicians by your wonderful logic as well so I hope you don’t! In a league where passing numbers are on steroids and records are broken every game, Nate Peterman has a qb rating of (and this is on steroids because of the era!) 39!!! But fans are not as smart as nfl GMs and coaches!!! https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/P/PeteNa00.htm for reference, this is about half less than EJ Manuel. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/M/ManuEJ00.htm
  22. Well, Nate Peterman is still in the NFL.
  23. Nate Peterman is one of the top 64 quarterbacks in the world.
  24. Yes I agree Beck Water. I think he’s there to mentor Fields. Nate has the smarts, he's shown it in practice and preseason games, but once he's playing real games, he just doesn't have enough, on-field talent as you said.
